Being ranked #1 Dec 10th means absolutely nothing other than the Vols have done real well up to this point. It was not and should not be considered a goal. It changes nothing. There is probably a 0.001 percent chance the Vols maintain that position for the year. It's the preferred place to be at this junction, but everyone is still jockeying for position. The season is like a war, you either win it or you don't. We have looked good in some early battles, but the war rages on.
Caveat, it is fun to bonk Rivals over the head with it though. 😄
Traveling to Illinois should be a good test.
