Without two starters. Thoughts?
Just an all around solid team that can make you look terrible with their tireless defense. I'm impressed, especially with two starters out.
It's really impressive, Parrentes is a very poor scorer but is overall a good player, and Anderson has been a monster. Virginia just picks you apart, they don't make errors defensively, usually shoot it great, and are a terrific ball/player movement team. They had a worse TO% than usual but that can be attributed to Parrentes's absence. If they get healthy Anderson and Parrantes back they are a legit title contender imo.
I respect them. It's more about the system than the players. The players do fit the system. But IMO it's still more about the system.
Virginia is really good.....Wake is really terrible.
Assuming Anderson is on schedule...this is going to be a deep, deep team come March.
Might be exactly what the offense needed.
Do you buy into "confidence boosting" results?

They aren't good, but they aren't THAT bad. Not even a bottom 10 Power Conference team. Lots of close losses this season.
Wake is 109 in KenPom. Miss State, Auburn, and Mizzou are all below 150.
UVA's D is just relentless. Solid talent on the team too. 8 consensus 4 stars, I believe. Not elite talent, but better than folks think.
That is exactly what UVA needed. I am incredibly impressed by that performance. I know it's Wake Forest but we just absolutely murdered a team on their home court without two of our starters. We hadn't won at Wake Forest in 15 years (smh) so it was good to get the monkey off our back. Glad to see Nolte hit some shots finally.
Yeah, a lot of people haven't been impressed with the offense, and it's understandable. Despite being top 10 in efficiency most of the year they've had their struggles. I think I read that in the 3 1/2 games(prior to Wake) since Anderson went down, they were 270+ in efficiency. I honestly don't believe they are that bad without Anderson. I think you can make a case that the pressure of added responsibility and seeing their go to guy go down had them shaken. The last couple of games Atkins and Gill have begun to come alive. Shayok is busting out of his slump. Hall has impressed. Nolte FINALLY hit some shots. Could be nothing, could be the start of something good.
Defense + making teams play at your pace = great season. Can make for some nauseating point totals, but for those who really love great half court defense it is treat to watch.
Hate to see it happen to Danny though.
dude.....all of those teams suck
Arkansas beat this team by 30
Wake is gonna finish their season with like 19 losses lol
Prior to last night's game, Wake Forest's Devin Thomas needed 4 points to hit 1000 for his career. Well, he got halfway there against UVA.
