Laughing This was such a huge reach for UNC in the first place.

    link

The NCAA Committee on Infractions issued a statement Friday to the AP saying that "committee composition is appropriate."

Sankey's letter also details a new timetable of completion for the oft-delayed case. UNC must respond to the latest charges by May 16. The NCAA enforcement staff then has until July 17 for its own response. Sankey wrote that his panel will hear the case in August with "anticipated" dates of Aug. 16 and 17.

On the bright side, there's the schedule. UNC's fate will be determined this year.

Sankey responded that Crowder's interview should occur in coming weeks within the new schedule, adding: "There will be no further delays, and the case will be heard on this schedule."

Banners are going down soon, I feel bad for UNC fans. Roy Williams will have only 1 championship after the investigation is over.

This comment stood out to me.

"Rules put in place and supported by our membership call for confidentiality in infractions cases and the continued leaks of partial and inaccurate information in this case are disappointing," the committee stated.

UNC has obviously pissed them off. Sankey may be the least of their worries.

Glad this will be over soon. One way or the other. I think UNC and non UNC fans can agree on that

But but but Sankey once wore a Florida Gator colored tie. A clear bias against UNC.

I like this actually. I think it will help UNC in court, which is where this will end up.

Tell us why Sankey staying helps AFAM U. What has Sankey done specifically to be removed or show bias.

Why is this going to court? My understanding from UNC fans is that MBB won't be punished and we all know nobody gives a crap about any other sports.

    Quite the spin here Cory.
UNC asks for Sankey to be recused. Sankey tells UNC to suck a D. Cory says this is a good thing.

    Outstanding stuff, keep it coming.

The NCAA says there simply has to be the 'appearance of a conflict of interest'. I think that would be fairly easy to show. I also think the NCAA knows this. I just don't think they care. I think they are going to hammer UNC, not even remotely consider the appeal, and then lose their ass in court. I think they are cool with this. I think in court the fact he wouldn't recuse himself will help UNC. Maybe not though. I'm not overly concerned tbh. I am way more concerned with Reds baseball and my golf game right now but it is something to discuss. Plus, it gives those obsessed with this whole thing something to get excited about so I'm happy for them. They needed something after we won another title.

I hope it goes to court. I would love to see all the UNC sycophants have to testify under oath and tell the truth. It might end up with the death penalty.

Still waiting on what his conflict of interest is.

Considering the N&O, which tries to blast UNC at every turn, wrote about Sankey's conflict of interest I'm surprised so many people have an issue with it.

Care to tell the rest of us how he is biased? He's in the SEC. UNC is in the ACC. What ax would he have to grind with UNC? Do you think Swofford is biased?

The NCAA and the COI are 2 different entities. The makeup of the committee was done so in accordance with NCAA bylaws. The same bylaws UNC agreed to when they voluntarily pledged membership to the NCAA. You can't agree to a certain set of rules that are clearly defined and then when you get in trouble, you all of a sudden take issue with them. Plus, it sounds like the entire committee is fed up with UNC's bs, hence the comment about "leaking inaccurate information."

This would be unprecedented. @Mark Gastineau , you obviously know more about this than us. How would you see this playing out?

So basically anybody that doesn't have a closet full of UNC gear would be a conflict of interest.

More outstanding stuff, Cory. You didn't disappoint.

UNC has abided by the bylaws. The NCAA has not abided by their own bylaws. I don't see how this helps them. I know you are way more into this story than I am but that seems like an odd take considering that.

I mean, it is the NCAA's definition. Ask them. You don't think an acting commissioner of a competing conference could have any reason to want to make an example of another team from a competing conference?

You like that one. I even reexplained it not long ago on here. It is pretty simple stuff. You can't use a part of a test to then extrapolate that to show what it isn't intended to show. Even you can understand that.

But the experts that UNC hired to come in and disprove her, couldn't do it because they said they didn't have all the data she used. She didn't share it. So, if they didn't have the data to prove her wrong, then how did you?

Got it. I agree Cory. The committee should consist of a bunch of Eddy's from Buttcrack, MT that think the only sport in existence is fly fishing.

How did you get her data? She didn't share it with the experts who couldn't prove her wrong. Why don't you just admit that you were making shit up and I will never mention it again.

I don't care how often you mention it. I mean, why the heck would that matter, lol. I explained long ago how those sort of tests work. You can't give one part of a test like this and claim one is illiterate. This has nothing to do with data, only knowing what assessment was used to obtain the data. No idea why I explain this to you over and over. You like to post weak shit and think anyone pays attention to it. I think it is only you (and now this Face guy so congrats on that quality haul).

Don't know about any experts UNC hired. I don't think anyone takes her seriously though. I'm surprised you even bring her up tbh. I don't think it helps your case.

As for 'just basketball', you are the one who has talked about my penis, wife, and family before. That is a question for you, man. It's weird stuff for sure.
