UK's Vanderbilt injured again

But nah, Calipari knows he will lose first game in SECT. He is hoping the NCAA feels sorry for them for having an injured player and still lets them in.

Day to day with an ankle sprain. There was a lot of worry at first because it was disclosed originally as a foot injury on the same foot he's already hurt.

originally no one had any info so a lot of people just speculated and assumed that it was his foot again

sadly a lot of rival fans were hoping it was his foot so that they could say Cal rushed him back too soon or they were happy him getting hurt so that UK's chances in the SECT and the NCAAT were hurt

Thanks! I saw someone on Twitter mention it and I thought it was an old tweet until I checked the timestamp

Where was this happening?

I was certainly one of those rivals fans---not because I wish for him to be injured, but to call out UK fans who stated K was selfish for playing Giles.

I feel if the kid can play and wants to play, then he should play, but I would also agree if the kid himself or his parents decided to shut him down before the draft as well.

The one thing I HATE is beating a team and their fans use the injured excuse! I want all of the stars playing to limit excuses! But that's just me!

Lol, yeah, that's pretty crappy.

I hope he is ok but agree there isn't much need to play him until the NCAAT if he is hurting at all. It isn't like UK winning the SECT is a guarantee with him and they have like a billion of them already. Rest up and try and make a run in the dance.

I was going to say in his head but Q went ahead and acted like the worst kind of fan on planet Earth so I guess that kind of shit exists. @Quavarius really man?
Thing is, it wasn't Vanderbilt's same foot or same injury. If Vanderbilt injured his elbow, Q would have started this thread. Laughing

Those few UK fans talking about Giles coming back really got to him.

Vanderbilt's father confirmed it's nothing serious.

Robert Vanderbilt, who was en route to the SEC Tournament in St. Louis on Wednesday, told the Herald-Leader that the injury his son suffered Tuesday is not related to his left foot.

“No. It’s not that,” he said. “We haven’t heard that it’s anything serious right now, no. Just day to day.”

It annoyed the piss out of me last year too but I don't think acting like those fans is the way to go, I think it's hypocritical.

Thought the same. The whole "i'm going to get even by acting the same" doesn't seem to make much sense.

You obviously didn't get the joke. It's ok.
It didn't read like a joke... i get it, you want UK fans to get egg on their face and you're not happy that he is injured or anything I just think it's a bad look and puts you on the same level as the idiots that ran their mouths about K/Giles last year.

If me calling out their hypocrisy is a bad look, then a lot of us look bad on this board. My intent of this post was to get more info on Vandy's injury. I got that. I also explained that I was indeed one of those rival fans who called out UK fans hypocrisy regarding the injury of one of their players (as @mebeblue2 ) referenced.

I've never wished any harm to any player and would never criticize a coach for the way they handle such things.

I'm glad it's not a season ending injury and he will be able to possibly play again.

You chose not to address it; I did.

If calling out hypocrisy IS hypocrisy, then I'm guilty!

Is it really hypocrisy when it's not the same injury? Seems reaching and a bit desperate to use a unrelated injury as some sort of gotcha. Plus you're doing the exact same they did.

But hey, I guess you're now even with those few pesky UK fans. o_O

Smh.

Doesn't have to be the same injury for the hypocrisy to exist.

Giles was injured and came back in the middle of the season and K was called selfish.

Vandy was injured and came back in the middle of the season and UK fans got amnesia.

I know it wasn't you who personally called K selfish for playing Giles because we know you'd be man enough to admit you were wrong. We know that.

If Vanderbilt has to miss all of next season because doctors think he needs to still rehab and strengthen his feet then go ahead and call Cal selfish. Everyone could tell Giles was not ready to play. Vanderbilt has come back and been one of the best rebounders in the country. The scenarios are not the same at all. If Vanderbilt reinjures that foot you might have a case. But he didn't and you don't.

Everyone including doctors, who cleared him?

If that helps you sleep at night, I guess.

Giles was medically cleared and it was his decision. Back to Vanderbilt.
