U6 is the comedy that just never stops.
Pope spent one year in a “real” conference. Neither have had the chance to have much tourney success by the mere fact they were coaches in mid major conferences, yet have both been. It’s pretty even tbh. Don’t act like you scored some home run hire after a HOF coach left to go to Arky. You have a mid major coach too. Both are just now getting a shot at big programs.

I think 20 wins and making the tournament are realistic expectations that would constitute a solid first year, considering the circumstances we’ve faced the last few years. I think so too btw.

I'll admit, I was blindsided by the Pope hire, but he has said all the right things and I really like the team he assembled in such a short period of time.
Additionally, he bleeds UK blue and he knows the BBN well. He will coach for UK and not the NBA draft, that’s music to my ears.
I don't know much about Kelsey, but from what I've seen, he looks like a good fit and he's hungry. Anything is better than what UL went through the last 2 years.

Considering how feeble U6 has been the past couple years, you'd have given a nut up to have the season he had at BYU last year. Looking at the roster he's put together for his first year at UK, color me not worried. Gonna be a fun year....one that will include wins over U6 and 'Fat Cal'.
Given the fact that as far as recruiting goes, he's already snagged Malachi Moreno and will add Jasper Johnson on 9/5. That's 2 for 2 in 5-star studs. Pope is gonna do very well at UK.
