Why? Been checking all the politics on this board, and it seems fair game....Besides its newsworthy here...One of the more surprising basketball stars of the modern era, an afterthought pretty much when he was snubbed by the ACC and matriculated at Davidson College, has a feud going w/The POTUS....

Curry has no respect for the POTUS. He has been listening to a bunch of disrespectful left wing nut jobs. Screw Curry and his stupidity.

Now Curry has been dis-invited; good enough.

No matter whether you like the President's political positions or not you should not act like an ass as Curry did.

Bruh, you might want to tell your President to stop acting like an ass and keep sports out of politics. He has bigger fish to fry.

Oh, so professional athletes can make political statements and you're perfectly fine with that, huh? Standard hypocritical, racist bullshit from Q.

If athlete's can make political statements, politicians can make statements about sports and athletes.

I say both of those groups stay in their own lanes.

I did too and wouldn't have have an issue if Trump did it. But the negative stuff and calling NFL players "sons of bitches" is low even for Trump.

I think it's perfectly fine for him to comment on this stuff if the athletes can make political statements too. Trumps the man.

Our president is like a child. Invite someone over, they say no, and so you DISinvite them? "Nuh uh, I disinvited you before you said you didn't want to come!"

Stop beefing with random athletes and spend that time on any of a million other FAR more important issues. Please.

I'm more surprised UNC didn't snub Obama when he was in office given their track record of making a mockery of African-American history.

Pretty ridiculous equivocation fail. If Steph loses focus with his job, it has no effect on me whatsoever. If President Trump loses focus with his job, that could have a very detrimental effect on the entire country.

Elected officials have always been fair game for criticism. That's not only fair, but important, too, as they answer to us.

Did you cast a vote for a reality TV star to keep being a reality TV star, or did you vote for a reality TV star to become the President of the freakin' United States?

While I think its dumb any player would turn down an invite to visit the white house with whomever is in office----It just flat out stupid for the POTUS to get involved like that. You really going to uninvit somebody that hates your guts and has publicly said he wont go? I feel like everybody has gone insane. Chain reaction of dumb.

I don't follow your logic here - nobody is disputing the fact that one has a more important job than the other, but are we saying Trump can never comment on athletics, especially when they intersect with social issues?

Curry obviously has the right to weigh in on political topics, but I think this new trend where pro athletes feel obligated to use their platform to advance social causes is problematic. Politics are by nature divisive, and while that is necessary in the construction of the white house, they're typically not in the best interest of businesses who stand more to lose than gain from alienating large contingents of a customer base.

Now, the NBA is a bit of a unique case since their demographics are so left-leaning, but when it comes to the NFL I think the media has misrepresented the anthem controversy quite badly, and I say that somebody who likes Colin Kaepernick and thinks he probably did the right thing in protesting. Politics are sensitive, and if sensitive issues need to be talked about sometimes, then fine, but the reactions to any social justice initiative still need to be processed through the context in which such things have typically been conducted. Kaepernick might well be a hero and he might be courageous, but he can't be those things and also be universally beloved. The media backlash against anybody who comes out against him these days is trending too far back in the other direction.

Stupid for anyone not to visit the White House. Especially stupid for Trump to act like a little bitch and stoop to such childish behavior.

But.............. Has no real effect on our lives. But will be made out to be the biggest story of the week by our media. I am sure Hannity will praise Trump for saying that, but most people will agree it was childish.

No, but to make ridiculous, angry, reactionary statements is immature and unseemly, especially for POTUS.

Worse, this is a President who referred to a group of Black athletes drawing attention to police mistreatment of Blacks as "sons of b******" without hesitation... but took several days to condemn avowed White supremacists, then walked it back by arguing that there are "good people" among them.

I don't think any reasonable interpretation of what I said is that Presidents can't say anything about a topic; what they say and how they say it matter.
