Hey Pubs, how would you feel if Bernie got the nomination from the Dems and ran against Trump?

He is the very last person I would want winning, but I've always thought if he was the nominee, it would almost guarantee a Trump win. I'm not sure if I believe that anymore, he's winning more than I thought he would, even if its just a few states so far.

I think the moderate democrats slightly panicking should tell you all you need to know about how they feel about a Sanders nomination. I’m honestly not sure any of the candidates right now could beat Trump. I don’t want to be too overconfident though because Hilary thought she had this thing in the bag 4 years ago. As a Pub I’m hoping Biden wins South Carolina and stays in for Super Tuesday. Bernie doesn’t get enough delegates and they have a brokered convention.

It's the last thing that I want. The market and certain industries have always reacted to the candidates being put out there for presidency. The higher likelihood you have of winning, the more they respond. In the base of Bernie Sanders, the oil industry is already seeing somewhat of a pullback this year due to, well, us being genius at getting oil out of the ground but being terrible at money or figuring out the pipeline situation (completely different topic), so if Bernie gets nominated, he becomes that much closer to actually becoming the POTUS which means major oil companies pull back their budgets even more and work becomes hard to find for people across the board. This is life in the industry but you hate to see slowdowns being helped brought on by the threat of a Sanders or a Warren being elected. I would much much much rather see Klobuchar, Bloomberg or Biden get nominated.

I feel like Biden is circling the drain right now----Warren was on her way, but apparently challenging Bloomberg gave her some kind of bump up.

Biggest idiot? I don't know about that. He's pretty damn smart. I'm just not sure he's ever been involved in something like we saw last week in the debates. He's been the top of the heap for so long it probably felt weird for people to attack him the way they were.

I do think he is buying this election though. Sanders is right about that.

I really think that Biden doesn't want to be there. I feel like he is only running because he was forced to by the DNC. I'm sure they had some plan concocted but it looks like that's not gonna happen now.

Yea he isn't necessarily dumb. I'm going to steal this from tmb

"He's not dumb. He's just mind-blowingly arrogant and incapable of suppressing that arrogance."

All I know is every ad I see from Bloomberg is trying to make me feel white guilt. I didn’t know much about the guy before the last few weeks but man, if I never had to see another commercial of his that would be great.

Yes. Quite a few of his reactions to the other candidates and audience seemed like he was genuinely perplexed about why they would have issue with his responses and past actions.

His campaign is trying to reverse the notion that he’s racist due to all of those tapes coming out a few weeks ago from when he was the NYC mayor. It’s no different than Trump saying “I love Mexicans!” all year long in 2016 after he called them bad hombres and rapists and murderers.

I never saw Trump do that in an ad, but assuming he did, it’s not being beat to death like Bloomberg. It’s all I’ve seen in his campaigning. At least with Trump he campaigned on more than trying to cover his ass.

This would be his most recognizable moment of it. This was right after he called them rapists and murderers. It’s just him trying to change the narrative. A tale as old as time. FYI, he did in on commercials as well. Also FYI, this is the photo where you can see the legal meth (Sudafed) on display in his drawer behind him.

He and John McCain just waited too long to make their moves. Most prefer candidates that can keep a train of thought longer than a sentence or two

He completely tuns off the younger vote. If Bloomberg wins we could, very small chance, but could see a party split.

He literally talks about loving hispanics all the time. My favorite was when he told people in New Mexico that he may love hispanics more than he loves his country. Lol. It's all in the game, yo. Can't judge just Bloomberg for it when they all do it.

From the stage, he asked Cortes: "Who do you like more, the country or the Hispanics?” Cortes appeared to mouth “country,” to which Trump replied: “I don’t know. I may have to go for the Hispanics, to be honest with you. We got a lot of Hispanics.”

I don't care what he said in an interview unless it was televised as a campaign ad. That's all I've been attacking of Bloombergs

It has to be on television for it to matter? It can’t be at a rally where he is literally campaigning/advertising himself to be elected again? Only tv?

You ever get so drunk you forget you posted during the night? Happened to me on Sunday afternoon. Day drinking absolutely got the best of me and I'm pretty sure I had some pretty irrelevant debates going on.

So much fun to read what you posted the next morning, though.

Yes. That was me on Rivals and the Mainboard from 2011-2015. So glad I cut out most of that behavior before the board changed. Lol.

No matter what you said, it was gone 3 weeks later. Nobody could search for it. Nobody could bump a horrible take. It just rolled off the end of the 3rd page, never to be seen again. I prefer that kind of world.. not this let me point out something you said in 2016 kind of world.

I feel like this is a shot at @hailtoyourvictor

I have to admit, once hail doubles down on something, he's pretty good at the whole "gotcha" thing

He's one of the best at it. I have a pretty good memory when it comes to people's history on the board but I never go searching for anything they've said. Hail does and when he bumps it, it's funny. A lot of people do it on the other boards as well.

And it wasn't a shot at him. It's something you see on twitter a lot, so if anything that's who I'm taking a shot at.

I signed up in October of 2005 and didn't find this place until 2006. I'm guessing 4/5/2006 is when I made my first post here? It would've been around that time. I didn't post very much until 2010 ish. Up until then I had maybe 1000 posts between the homeboard, mainboard and here.

When I first got here it was overrun by Tennessee fans and they were taking on all other SEC fans. There were a bunch of Kentucky guys as well but Tennessee was doing well at the time so they stuck out more to me. I thought it was odd. UCLA had a few guys here too. Most of the regulars today were not here except for maybe @coryfly and @kdogg420 later known as @RonMexico later known as @Kevin Bryan

I started reading this board around 2008 probably. CatsPause, or the Kentucky rivals site I started on in 2007 or so. I hardly ever posted on my old handle, just used it to read other threads. I definitely remember the Tennessee fans haha. Jew Vol and UTpharm! Good times. Except for Kentucky sucking and everything
