Can the bank just not take it out of your account? I work in banking and run into issues like this all the time with clients. Seems like they are doing more work than necessary.

That doesn't sound right at all. Who is making you swipe your card? I thought you said the billing department didn't have an error in their books. I can't see a bank making your swipe your card either. They would just fix the glitch internally.

It's a complete shit show. I don't get it. That's what I'm telling them. Just take it back out. I don't like me spending 90k. Seems like lazy thinking. Almost as bad as the c*nt who brought up, not paying me for the foreseeable future.

This is something the bank fixes in its own operations, they shouldn't be asking you to swipe or pay anything even if it is just to even out. There should be an entire department of this bank that handles deposit operations. This isn't sitting well man. This isn't your own company, right?

It's my day job. It's a big dealership in Memphis. I'm having serious reservations about swiping my card. I don't like it at all. Cops are here, later guys. I'll let you know what happens.

There are already resolutions in place to resolve delays. All this will do is embolden the Democrats to go full-on nasty in the impeachment trials - and accuse Republicans of being corrupt when he's acquitted. The Obama Administration had 44 cases brought to the SCOTUS that lost unanimously. So yes, it is much ado about nothing.

... and obviously he meant the GAO making retroactive decisions.

You shouldn't. Your W-2 should be reflective of your gross earnings, and that $100k wasn't really earned. It would be a good idea to verify with an HR rep that your W-2 number isn't being overblown. Truthfully, if they don't adjust the number, they would end up paying more money on you because the fringe benefits would increase. So remind them that it would cost them money not to adjust the figures.

Metro cops in Memphis are crazy. I guess they have to be. They're like "wtf are we doing here, can't yall figure this out". One of the police officers said "I dont' have to pay back shit." That was his exact words. I said I believe in karma and wanted to make it right. He looked at me like I had three heads.

I have to keep it in my checking account and they're going to take it out but "it might take time".

F'n fat fingers caused this whole ish. I wanted none of this nonsense.

I'm going home. If a m'fer calls me I'm going off. Too tired and impatient right now.

Just so you know, the cases the Supreme Court take on aren't always criminal cases... often, they are not. Just because the Supreme Court decides something one way or the other doesn't mean a crime was committed. In fact, usually the decisions of the Supreme Court have nothing to do with someone going to jail. So I don't think your Obama point means much?

I'm not sure why it matters that there are resolutions in place?

DD, the reason this might matter is because certain people have wrongly insisted that you cannot impeach someone who didn't commit a crime. This, at least, helps with that.

Yeah this whole claim that only criminal acts are Impeachable is pretty ridiculous on the surface. The whole Whitewater investigation was launched to investigate Vince Foster's death, when Janet Reno (doing her JOB as AG- hear that Billy Barr?) appointed a REPUBLICAN (Bob Fiske) to investigate if the death had any connections to the Whitewater land deal and people Clinton knew back in Arkansas.

That was in 1994, and after Fiske concluded Clinton was not involved, disgruntled Republicans in Congress (and Right wing radio) pushed for Fiske to be replaced and eventually Starr was appointed. When Clinton was finally Impeached in late 1998, the Articles (Obstruction of Justice and Perjury) BOTH revolved around actions that Clinton undertook DURING the Investigation. In other words, if the Whitewater Investigation had NOT been launched, then there would have been no charges to level against Clinton...

Trump's defenders seem to conveniently forget what happened with Clinton. Clinton was charged with Obstructing the INVESTIGATION- the same charge being levelled at Trump. The perjury charge arose from the testimony that Clinton was REQUIRED to provide during Starr's INVESTIGATION. It was testimony about an affair and TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to the subject of the Initial Investigation into Whitewater.

By contrast, Trump was actually charged with the act he was being investigated for in the first place- ABUSE OF POWER. So while both of Clinton's Articles were a result of the investigation, Trump has been charged with obstructing the Investigation but also with the original offense itself- abusing his power. That is clearly within the confines of a High Crime or Misdemeanor as delineated in the Constitution...

I'm at a loss for words. My wife is hard to please. After I left work today, I stopped at a Wendy's. I saw a guy face plant in the grass. I did CPR on him. Police and EMT said I basically saved his life. Wife is giving me shit for eating at Wendy's.

And now on her way home, she's giving me ish for eating at Wendy's.

I was coming out of Wendy's and saw a guy faceplant at the gas station next to Wendy's. I yelled, "are you ok", he didn't answer. I put my food in the driver seat and walked over..more of a brisk walk but not running.I approached him and he was out cold. I immediatly started doing CPR.My wife is a licensed counselor in TN. Whe works with kids and has to take CPR lessons. She said, don't do mouth stuff and just do chest compressions to the beat of Staying Alive. That's what I did while yelling at the ppl at the gas station to make a phone call. EMT. police showed up. he came to when they put the mask on him. I bet he wouldn't recognize me tomorrow. He was out. I think I might have saved a life.

...and yeah, I cried after I came home and processed it all. Sister is a family name for my 81 year old aunt. @Bert Higginbotha can verify.

The reason I say I shouldn't have been there, is Wendy's declined my card. I was denied. I went next door to a bank and with drew money from an ATM. I should have been gone 10 minutes prior to dude face planting.

...and now my wife is giving me ish for eating at Wendy's. Laughing If the pussy is that good, eat it yourself.

I wasn't even going to share this story, but her just getting off work and laying into me. I thought why not.

*forgot to mention he had a heart attack. Another old guy pulled over and said I saw what you did, and thanked me. I said something about humanity. I don't remember exactly. It all happened so quick.

Right is the bank/atm. center is Wendy's. left is the grass where he faceplanted.

Apparently there's a good samaritan law. I don't think I cracked a rib, but just in case, I'm protected. Wife got home and is familiar with it.

I'm ok with never saving another life.

Apparently if I took money from the daughter, I could be liable. and good samaritan law wouldn't apply.

It's funny, I read sports rivals on here and they try and be a dick. They got nothing on my wife. She's a f'n proper dick. Rivals are going to have to up their game before they get to me. I have two emotional black eyes.

good shit, man! If you see something, you’ve got to step in. It’s scary and hard (twss) but you’ve got to. Too often we assume someone else will. And yes, you are a hero!:)

The Good Samaritan thing is interesting. I had to heimlich a guy in a restaurant once. While I got the food out, he was also bleeding from the mouth a bit. We never really communicated (my group left immediately, as the guy had thrown up on me also) but I always wondered if maybe I broke a rib or something (although I thought I was clearly under the ribs?)

I never said they were criminal cases. Probably none of the 44 cases with Obama were impeachable offenses, and neither is this one.

Yeah, I've had the (bad?) fortune of being first on scene for three different things.

The Heimlich thing was at an Italian place... it was a beautiful day, I was there with a buddy and his girlfriend... we were all stoned in the West Village and wanted to get a nice meal. So we go to this place that had awesome outdoor seating, and the waiter is all like "Hey, are you here for just drinks, or lunch?" because they won't give the good outdoor tables to people just there for drinks. So we say "lunch" and sit down and put in our drink orders. The waiter went back inside, and 30 seconds later the woman at the next table stands up and starts screaming that her husband is dying. So I jumped up and asked him if he could breath (I remember all of the posters say to do that). He was just clutching his throat and not responding... he was clearly choking. So I got behind him and did it a few times, and then he puked all over his front and the table and my hands and started gasping. So he plunks down into his chair, and his wife is crying and checking on him, and I sit back down in MY chair, and my buddy is getting a cop from across the street, and then the waiter comes back out and TOTALLY doesn't sense the vibe and asks us for our lunch order.

My buddy's girlfriend is like "Uhhh... I think we are just going to go," because I'm a bit spaced out and have puke all over my hands, and clearly we aren't staying.

So the waiter starts berating us, about how we lied about just getting drinks, and he's all pissed, and then my buddy's girlfriend freaks out and is like "DUDE, HE JUST SAVED THAT GUYS LIFE!"

And then the waiter looks up and sees the softly crying woman and the guy who is still clutching his chest and me sitting there all wide-eyed with puke-hands and the cop coming in and the ENTIRE restaurant staring at us and understands what happened.

They still made us pay for the drinks, which in retrospect was kind of bullshit?

I was also first on scene when I was like 10 and a car crashed in front of our house, and then again when I was in my early 20s and a kid crashed his Camaro into some farm equipment near my apartment. That one, I vividly remember the stuck car horn and thinking "Oh wtf. Whatever, someone will handle it," and then a moment later thinking wait, wtf, no, don't wait for someone to handle it, and running out into the rain in my boxers. The kid ended up being basically okay, but I remember running across the field up to the car, and the door was open so the interior light was on, and I could see the smoke (or maybe it was the stuff from the air bag deploying) and thinking to myself "If this person is splattered all over the inside of their car, wtf do I do?"

    Good times?:)

To each their own, of course.

Right? 8 out of 10 black Americans also believe Trump is a racist.

Yeah they must not know that the black unemployment rate is the lowest in our countries history. Or that the average American (including lower and middle classes) have received $5K more in their pockets. More than Obama or Bush.

I think this is nothing more than the MSM getting a sense that the black vote might be even higher for Trump.

I find it sort of off that you guys are just blowing this off.

You have a president who appeared hesitant to condemn a march full of white supremacists, a president who said he didn't want black people handling his money, a president who was sued several times for discriminatory renting practices against black people, a president who insisted that a bunch of black kids who were innocent of a crime might still be guilty, a president who called young black men engaged in peaceful civil rights protest "sons of bitches", a president who has bashed the removal of statues honoring leaders and soldiers from the nation that fought to preserve slavery, a president who called Africa a shithole, a President who was fined for removing black dealers from his casino floor and called them lazy, a president who has retweeted tweets from known racists, a president who was THE LEADING INDIVIDUAL behind trying to label the first black president a secret Muslim non-American... and on top of that we have seen huge spikes in hate crimes since Trump's election and a tripling in distribution of white supremacist propaganda since 2016, the absolute worst apparently feeling approved of and emboldened, with the klan and all the rest celebrating because they feel (right or wrong) they FINALLY have a President who gets them.

I mean, for God's sake... they had to replace the Emmett Till memorial over and over and over because people kept SHOOTING it. They've finally had to try a BULLETPROOF sign, because people so many people were shooting a memorial to a black kid who was murdered for talking to a white woman. Like... on what planet, to what people, is this okay?

When you guys, who are all white males (we've always been at the top of the heap, in terms of laws and positions of power and all the rest), just scoff and write off black people's concerns by implying they don't know what they are talking about or they don't actually understand what's going on or they don't appreciate what they've got or that an uptick in black employment should be enough... well, that's really dismissive.

I've found that I learn more listening to people and their concerns than dismissing them out of hand, and that sometimes people explaining their concerns and issues helps me, in terms of appreciating other peoples perspective. Hell, Fish... talk to Jungle. See what he says. You know he's a pretty reasonable dude.

They interviewed 1,088 people. That’s not even .01% of the African American population. Sorry some of us what more data before coming to a conclusion that 8 out of 10 African Americans think he’s racist.

    Also aren’t you white?

Well of course, all polls are limited. There aren't any polls where they interview a half million Americans:) It's one of the natural weaknesses of polls. But my guess is that its roughly representative of the feelings of black Americans.

And yeah, I'm white. This forum is like 99 percent white male:) Nothing wrong with being white! I just wince when you have people in the historically-most-powerful class (that's us white men) scoffing at people of another class and dismissing their concerns.

I just want more data. What were the age ranges of people interviewed? Where are they located? The problem with the media is they get the story they want and run with it. I’m not saying that a majority thinks he is racist I just have a hard time believing 80% do.

Also funny side note on the white part. I was at a Ravens game last year with my sister and her boyfriend. Flacco threw a pass to, I believe, Mark Andrews and my sister’s boyfriend( who is Asian) out loud said “that’s right baby. White to white is always right.” A black guy in front us turned around and we were like oh shit is this guy going to do something. He turned and was like damn right, we got to get him the ball more. We just busted out laughing and told him to ignore her boyfriend who says stupid shit like that.

BTW, random story bringing together NBA 2k and this... :)

So was talking to the wife a year or two ago about two guys I was playing 2k with... a guy named White (who is white), and a guy named Jungle Boi (who is black.)

So I'm like "Oh yeah, I'm playing with White and Jungle blah blah blah..."

My wife gets this look on her face and says "White and Jungle?"

    I'm like "Yeah?"

    "Is White white?"

    "Yep."

    "Is Jungle black?"

    "Yep."

So she laughs and is like "Uh, when you say that, you sound SUPER racist! Can you call them something else?"

I shrug and say "Well, I could call Jungle Boi "Boy" but that seems, like, way worse?"

    She agreed:)
