The massive favor arky did for UK....

Me and many others tried to tell Arkansas fans this, but they didn't want to hear it and just called us butthurt and even a KU fan joined in and we know how he behaves.

Haven't heard a peep out of any of those guys in a while. I wonder why.

Cal had his pick of the litter, he ended up with a legit loaded roster and took all UK's good leftovers too, well, there's nobody else to blame.

When I found out Cal got terminated because he broke the terms of his contract by talking deals with Tyson Chicken, there were millions of elated UK fans. Maybe now everyone will see what we have been dealing with the last 4 years.

I just think the game has passed him by and he refused to adjust

It’s more than that. He almost seems oblivious to the obvious. He’s that old man wearing shorts above his belly button with over-the-calf tube socks on the beach.
But what most people don't get is, winning is a byproduct of his NBA-first culture. It's all about individualism and every time they take the court, they are in NBA tryout mode.
During his introductory press conference, towards the end, he warned Arky fans. He said "people tell me you can’t win by making it about the kids, but you can, it's about the kids and their futures".
What he actually means is, any kid that has NBA potential, is getting the big minutes, anyone rated lower, is bench fodder and it doesn’t matter if those kids are better, they're sitting.
The guy is a narcissistic clown that refuses to look at the bad losses and realize he's not doung it right.

yeah. I always felt like him calling the nba draft night the biggest night of the season was always disrespectable to what the UK program and its fanbase is. The program was great well before Cal and he didnt seem to get that.

They don't have the coaching to compete with Florida.
Nah I just don't believe any road game will be easy. Arkansas has talent to be very good, and I fully expect them to play they're best game vs us. Were you guys worried much about UGA yesterday? Shit happens on the road especially when nobody thinks the road team can win.

He was looking for the big stage to satisfy his NBA draft boner. The guy is obsessed with the NBA.
It worked for a while, the bigtime talent he got his first 7 years covered up his many deficiencies, but also, he was tougher back then and loved winning. Something changed after the 2017 season. Not sure what though.

Georgia doesn’t have a narcissistic idiot running things. Cal is broken. Florida by 15.

It’s hard for some to get over the ex that abruptly walked out the door.
You should probably post this in the "Roy left KU for UNC" thread.

Everyone knows you're just trolling here, but I'll ask anyway, do you seriously think UK fans wanted Calipari to stay? Please tell me you're not that naive and you were, in fact, just trolling.

Proof is in the results at Arkansas right now and the last 4 yeaes at UK. That guy is completely washed and the OP is 100% correct, Arkansas did UK a massive favor by offering him a job and getting him fired. Our AD was looking for that opportunity and he got it.

You do realize this thread was started by an Auburn fan, with UK in the thread title? Right?

100% guarantee you would be all over a KU thread if Self left for Baylor if it was titled "The massive favor Baylor did for KU." Not a doubt in anyone's mind who posts on this board.

So glad Cal is gone. He was a noose around the basketball program, and he is Arky's problem now. Glad Pope is the coach, as he is light-years better then Cal at this stage, and it is not even close.

Cal's issues remain... running an offense against a zone, playing a zone, recruiting shooters, running more than 1 offense, inbound plays, etc. He's refused to adjust to modern basketball and it's glaringly obvious.

I think the “greatest night ever” comment was taken way outta context. I don’t think he meant it as our “best moment” in our basketball history but more of a “best moment” because recruits was gonna see 5 first round picks from UK getting drafted.

As far as Cal goes I appreciate what he did at UK and I’ll never boo the guy. I defended him but I was sick of hearing his same old bullshit every year. It was time for him to go. I love Mark Pope and everything he’s about.

Cal is a good coach. His Arky record is similar to UK's record, both teams sport good offense and not so good defense. As long as Arky fans and UK fans are happy it seems to be working out.

You can’t honestly believe this after looking at both teams results this season. Stop trolling.

That some people can't get over Calipari's exit?

Of course I believe that. The tendency to post novels every time his name is mentioned was my first clue. 🤣

1. Cal used to be a good coach. He is no longer. The game has passed him by, and whatever fastball he had is long gone.

2. UK fans have wanted him gone for years, so no doubt we are happy. Especially when you consider that his replacement threw this team together in a month when left with any empty cupboard and has wins over Duke, Gonzaga, Florida, and their biggest rival.

3. I highly doubt Arky fans are happy at this point. But not many of their fans post here. Cal is massively underachieving again. Would be curious to hear their take 15 games in.

Saying "I told you so" isn't being eaten up. We told Arkansas, better yet, all fans, that Cal was washed up. And nobody wanted to listen. There isn't a soul alive that would trade Kentucky's season for Arkansas' at this point. They aren't even close. You know this.

Cal was never a good coach, he just tried to out-talent everyone.

As far as the records go, that would be a good point if both teams played the same schedule, but that's not the case.

Arkansas has zero quality wins, 4 losses, are about to start conference play 0-3, with 2 of those losses at home.

UK has 3 losses and 3 wins over top 10 teams and has played a much harder schedule.

You can't just look at the records and say everything is equal.

He is a terrible in game coach. His decision making and use of time outs are absolutely atrocious.

Can't get over Cal's exit? Where do you get this shit from? We are literally pointing and laughing and you're obviously dumb enough to think that means we can't get over losing Cal?

You MIGHT have a point if Cal was killing it at Arkansas this year, but he stinks, just like we said he would.

Just quit trolling, nobody is buying your bullshit.

He had energy and a chip on his shoulder when he came to UK in 09, he worked harder than everyone and got whatever players he wanted.

He was a God in Lexington and at that younger age, he could juggle all the things he was taking on, but he's burned. He doesn't have the energy to even do the minum right now.

He’s never been even an adequate bench coach, everyone knows that, but you can't be a bad coach and be lazy, that’s what he is right now.

I've noticed the game is passing the older coaches by. Larrenega called it quits, Tony Bennett, and Mick Cronin looked like he was about to resign the other night. So glad we have Kelsey and you guys have Pope. They're the new breed of coaches who have adapted to this new landscape in cbb. Would not be surprised to see other older coaches call it quits after this season.

The game is going in a direction that is going to burn coaches out much quicker. Cronin is only 53, but he's about done.
Hopefully Pope and Kelsey can hang on awhile.

The Della I know, is smarter than this. What have you done with Della?

Should I say Tennessee is very similar to Oklahoma, or UGA? The records are the same, or close to the same.
UGA and OU are both 2 loss teams, Jeffy.
