Lots of teams are happy just to break that 6-6 mark to become bowl eligible.

But my vote for the Disappointment Bowl goes to the Pinstripe bowl entries
    Miami (7-5) vs Wisconsin (7-5)

Miami was #8 preseason, and Wisconsin #4 and even had 1 first place vote!

Anyone have a bigger Disappointment Bowl on the list?

What I wouldn’t give for FSU to play in the Disappointment Bowl.

I thought this was going to be about the Belk bowl.

Hehe.. Well might be able to put Scar in that category, but the Cavs were picked to be dead last in the ACC Coastal, so have to say at least one of these two entries slightly over-achieved.

I wish Nebraska and FSU could have played each other in a bowl. It’d be just like the 90’s...but not.

They take half the fun away when they use corporate names for bowls. Call the bowl by another name and say "Sponsored by..." Winking

HAHA! Totally agree. Me and @BlueWames were saying that the Redbox Bowl should give everyone who tunes in a free Redbox rental! Lol.

I get the point of this thread, but I have to throw in a vote for the Peach Bowl. Michigan had a shot at the CFP, and blew it in epic fashion, which is disappointing enough. Then get to play a team that they've played 3 times in the last 4 years, that neither (or any, for that matter) fanbase is interested in.

I thought but Miami and Wisconsin would be better than they were but I didn’t understand all the hype revolving around Wisconsin. The fact that they play in the B1G West and couldn’t even win 8-9 games says a lot. I guess the same can be said for Miami playing in the ACC Coastal.

I saw the title for the thread and came in with the intentions of nominating the Miami/Wisconsin game. Wisconsin fell hard this year and Miami was supposed to have momentum after last season. Yeah both were ranked higher than they deserved to be heading into the season and even at the end of last year, but neither should’ve expected to do so poorly.

Also, I’d watch a FSU/Nebraska game over half these other bowls.

That’s really going to be disappointing for Penn St. fans. And Mcsorley, whose going to be, well sore after the game from Josh Allen dropping him on the ground.

It doesn't get any more disappointing than playing Kentucky in a bowl, unless it's Texas.

I think rock bottom was when one of your players yelled to our coaches that we only had 10 on the field in the middle of a 41-14 ass Kicking.

If that’s not rock bottom I don’t know what is

CLEARLY, Iowa State s disappointed playing in the Alamo Bowl after an average 8-4 season. If only ISU had Kyler Murray at QB, the Cyclones would be 12-1 Big Xii Champions and playing Alabama in the Orange Bowl! :p Seriously, I bet Wash. State is a little disappointed after losing to their rival and ending in the Alamo Bowl vs. Iowa State instead of the Rose Bowl vs. Ohio State. Hope so! Hope they are flat, uninspired and don't want to be there! Let's Go Cyclones! Remember the Alamo Bowl!

I guess you missed the entire fvcking point of the post. We've seen this match-up already. Hell, Michigan has played Florida more than they've played Iowa, in the last 4 years

Was listening to the radio this morning and heard one of the broadcasters talk about Atlanta v Green Bay as the “Disappointment Bowl” yet this thread is about college football...

    I am disappointed.

I’d rather play a PAC team at this point as their is no PAC-SEC Bowl. That said with my family being from Michigan and the extra practice etc it’s far better than no bowl at all.

The problem is who to play UCF, if they let you play LSU then it leaves Fla to play an instate team and most likely lose, and that would cause a mass exodus of HS players to out of state teams, and if they gave you guys UCF then you would be considered bullies.

The problem isn’t going to be the opponent that plays UCF, it’s going to be the excuses that are made should UCF beat a team from a “superior” conference like the SEC.

It happened last year when UCF beat Auburn, a team that defeated both Georgia and ‘Bama. Nobody gave UCF a chance but, when they did end up winning, the immediate response was “This Auburn team wasn’t motivated” or “This wasn’t a very good Auburn team this year.” I have a feeling this exact same scenario will play out should UCF beat LSU in their bowl game this year.

Being on a superior conference does not mean you are not playing an inferior team. UCF on a good day can beat just about anyone but had they played a real schedule all year it would have given them some cred as it stands they do not belong.

The schedules are made years in advance and what teams are doing good this year, more often than not, is not what you see 5+ years down the line when the game is finally played. Coaching carousels are more active than ever before; most don’t last more than a couple of years before they are either canned or move to a different school. Without consistency in coaching or the players you may or may not be able to recruit, that 5+ year gap in scheduling has an incredibly high possibility of being a garbage game when it is actually played.

Just look at VT, FSU and Oregon 5 years ago and where those teams are now. Hell, even UCF was winless two seasons prior to the 25 straight wins they’ve accumulated. The bottom line is that it is practically impossible to gauge how good a game is when the date it set so far in advance and with all of the turnover that happens in college football.

You’re talking to a gator who saw his gators lose to an FCS team that didn’t attempt a pass. Went 4-8 with a fluke W vs UK and he saw his team literally crap their pants lol. Skids.
