According to former MTV VJ, Alan Hunter. I think this "myth" went viral a week or so ago. Anyway, mine is U2's I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Aug.11 1987.

    Profound.

    Very interesting, almost chilling.

The song was only top of the charts for only that one week and it's my favorite song from that band and my wife and I play it often and it means a lot to us.

Keep On Lovin You - REO Speedwagon.

1990 was a mixture of good and bad at the top of the Hot 100. The song that applies for me was sort of in the middle of that, "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)" by Stevie B. He's remembered as a 1-Hit Wonder with this being said hit in question, but this was in the middle of a 3-song streak where he scored inside the Top 20, being sandwiched by "Love & Emotion" which made #15 and "I'll Be By Your Side" at #12. He currently has a total of 8 Top 40 hits, but "Postman" is easily the most memorable.

Oddly enough, Stevie B's still putting out new material and has been regularly churning out stuff since 1988, his most recent release being in 2017.

Anyway... not sure how it defines my life thereafter other than how I'm excitedly mellow at times.

His relevance is contained in the 1990s. "Close to You" is what he's best remembered for, but he also had a decent teamup with Shaggy for "That Girl" which samples Booker T & the MG's "Green Onions."

I'm one of those weirdos who prefers Neil Diamond's original, though Neil himself is a big fan of the UB40 cover, to the point where for live performances he started switching up to their style a little more, much like Bob Dylan's appreciation of Jimi Hendrix's cover of "All Along the Watchtower."
