Rules still apply
you would think antifa would be sick of getting their asses kicked. You have to admire their tenacity.
Your weekend at ginsburg made me laugh as hard at IB's comment on hobbits & the weather.

It wouldn't be summertime without anifta videos. Dude has a mean right hook.
That guy is a:
We don't play!
She keeps dozing off in public. It makes you wonder if they have to stick a mirror under her nose to see if she’s still alive.
Then pics or GTFO.
Hahaha, can't get the tune out now!
Trump Orders Catapults Be Placed Along Border To Expedite Deportations
President Trump said today he is determined that deportations of those who enter the United States illegally proceed quickly, without waiting for court proceedings motorized transportation.
“We’re going to use catapults because that’s the fastest way. It’s going to be so fast. Very very fast.”
I'm wondering if I should go all history nerd on you and point out those are trebuchet's rather than catapults....or not.
The funny thing is, the person I stole this from on Facebook had this quote along w/ the post:
"Actually, it's Trebuchets but what difference does it make?"
Hey, look!!! Cheap, efficient and no motors/engines. Green energy. Tree huggers should like that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Nope don't even have time for this.
My contribution to The Pit tonight:
I read an article about a year old discussing healthcare reform to combat the single-payer movement. I read something that I haven't heard of until now:
In order to compromise with the Democrats while reforming our current healthcare situation, what if the GOP introduces a deal that would provide every citizen with government-funded catastrophic coverage while shifting to a more free-market system for everything else? The Democrats get their entitlement while the GOP gets a more open and competitive system. In theory, families no longer have to worry about going bankrupt from emergencies while prices for routine medical procedures would go down.
What say you?
I say holy shit that is genius.
Needs to be saved for posterity.
Except the 800 lb gorilla in the room is what to do with pre-existing conditions, not catastrophic coverage. Remember how all those people who did it right pre-ACA ended up losing their private insurance, and many of those were probably drawing for some johnny-come-lately condition?
I believe health insurers should be allowed to deny or charge an increased premium for PECs. As Jonathan Raof said, "When you legislate away the use of pre-existing conditions, you pervert market incentives." Why should I buy health insurance as a healthy individual when I can buy it for the same price if I wait for something to happen? There's almost more incentive there since you'd save money on premiums along the way.
One solution I like is to encourage the sale of multi-layer health insurance policies. If you have a heart attack and survive, your life insurance doesn't go up, unlike your health insurance. Why? It's sold in multi-layered policies. Meanwhile, your health insurance skyrockets because it's sold in one-year policies.
I'll admit that I didn't come with this idea myself; It's something I stumbled on over the years while researching the topic. You become a bit more "humane" while increasing the incentive to buy health insurance as a healthy individual, if you're afforded that opportunity.
What I keep having to remind everyone is this: Insurance isn't designed to pay for pre-existing conditions. It's designed to pay for the unexpected.
Buying insurance to pay for pre-existing conditions is like buying car insurance to pay for the repairs after you have a wreck.
Agreed. I believe we're on the same page here?
Yes, and that is the primary reason SCOTUS should have struck down the ACA. It's construct is sheer lunacy.
You're not wrong. It was doomed to fail from the beginning.
I always thought this was the Democrats' thought process for the ACA: There's 44 million uninsured Americans. With Obamacare or a single payer, that number becomes 44 million votes in the general election.
Well you're in Tennessee, they're too scared to bring that crap down South.
And just so you know, you won't see any in North Carolina next week either.
You’re correct. The architects of the ACA admitted it was designed to implode. That was easy to see and why you don’t make lawmakers play underwriters and policy makers that really don’t have a clue. It was nothing but a way to cripple many to become more dependent.
I believe the thread title is supposed to be "discourteous browbeating," but it's fine.
I blame Chief Justice John Roberts, effing traitor.
It was meant as a first step to a single-payer, gov't controlled health care system.
There is no such thing as civility when discussing politics and religion.
For many people, i agree.
That's what I thought too.
I mean it was just the typical drivel that the leftists spew continuously ITT.
Woulda been fun having him to kick around.

Tips for staying civil in a debate about child prisons:
Avoid unkind generalizations like equating the jailing of ethnic minorities with some malevolent form of fascism.
Consider that we all have different perspectives stemming from things like age, ethnicity, or level of racism.
Recall that violently rejecting a tyrannical government goes against everything our forefathers believed in.
Find common ground by recognizing that some kids are huge assholes.
Make sure any protests are peaceful, silent, and completely out of sight of anyone who could actually affect government policy.
Give your political opponents the benefit of the doubt by letting this play out for 20 years and seeing if it gets any better on its own.
Realize that every pressing social issue is solved through civil discourse if you ignore virtually all of human history.
Remind yourself that you’re just two people having a cocktail at the same D.C. party and that politics is a game to you.
Avoid painting with a broad brush. Not everyone in favor of zero-tolerance immigration wants to see children in cages—it’s more likely that they just don’t care.
