#1 - Our bowl tie in's absolutely suck. Win the conference and play in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec 15th.
#2 - UCF will not repeat at the G5 rep in NY6 Bowl Day.
No offense but that is about as worthless as tits on a bull at this point.... I bet last years prediction had FSU in the playoff.
I must have overlooked it, but I can't figure out why there's an asterisk next to UK and no one else.
Of course it is. Fun to speculate on hypotheticals
I'd be ok with a Sugar Bowl bid if we dont make the playoff, we just played TCU so I wouldnt mind a different opponent but Im sure it would be a fun game.
OSU, Alabama, Clemson,OU
Holy hell what a risk taker
He will probably brag about getting "X" number of playoff teams correct next year too
FAU is going to have a helluva year again with Kiffin signed for a while. The dude loves Boca and grabs all the speed he needs in Broward/West Palm. If they can figure out a way to recruit some size in the trenches they’ll be hanging with OU & OSU the next 2 years. Don’t let them shock you when they play p5 games
Jan. 1 AllState Sugar Bowl - TCU vs. Georgia
ODD is supposed to be in Roatan then. Gonna be a BIG drunk at Herby´s!
Fair enough.... What the hell are we to do in the off season other than speculate. So I withdraw my argument counselor.
But...but...UK is better than SCar. How can this be?
Yeah we have been saying 2018 is going to be our year for 2 years now. The invitational might just have to invite us if we are the only undefeated team in the nation.
Silly projection. We play Stanford at home in 2019. Seriously doubt they would match us up against a team we wil beat in the following regular season.
You know how re-runs get on everyone's nerves, yeah, this is one big re-run.
Thank gawd someone did this so I don't have to watch any games this year.
Its bs but at least it's foootball tall
Iowa State vs. Utah in the Cactus Bowl. I can dig it!
no RUTGERS = fail
I'm almost to the point where I think Bama and Clemson should just start scheduling an annual home and home, so we can get this business settled earlier in the season.
SCar in the Outhouse Steakback Bowl. Wow, that never happens.
I laughed when I saw that, it's a shame y'all won't get to matchup with Michigan
Would you travel to go to it? I've broke the bank the past few years going to at least one of Bama's post season games or the SECCG so I don't know if I will try to go this year.
Yes, I would go to see them in the Cactus Bowl - as it would be new Bowl Game for me! Plus, ISU is 2-0 in Arizona Bowls (won the 2000 insight.com Bowl over Pitt and 2009 Insight Bowl over Minnesota). I'd try to work in an Arizona Coyotes Hockey Game too. Would rather play UCLA or some other team than Utah though, because the Utes ALWAYS win their Bowl Games!
It said that even though UK was projected an 11-1 season that most bowl game committees wouldn't even consider UK until they beat Florida so they barely salvage the season with a Military Bowl appearance.
This projection would be about the most boring season I could imagine.
I've looked at UCF's schedule if they can somehow manage the impossible and do an encore I think they at least have a fair chance of being in the last final four grouping. It probably won't happen, it's especially hard following one championship with another but assuming it can I don't see any reason why they wouldn't qualify. But I don't make those decisions (obviously).
I do think UCF should be given full claim to the degree the chalkenged Alabama. 1/6. That's the full measure of a NC they won a year ago. They secured a full 1/6 of a NC.
Fairly. Nobody can argue differently. Every one of those NY-6 games us a championship. To lie and say they didn't tells me people really suck. 1/6 is fair to the paradigm. That's the measure they qualified.
Dude there's no debating it. If you dno't think a NY6 bowl is a championship you're insane. They selection process is difficult UCF barely qualified, and they beat another team of comparable talent and therefore were given an appropriate reward. I'm really getting tired of trying to explain something that makes sense to anyone else to you.
You just want to weasel out of it, and make an excuse for Auburn for losing to UCF. It wasn't a championship by your measure, well that doesn't make any sense to me. If they aren't going to try in a game that says something about how a team compares what does? Same for Alabama. They will argue they didn't care if they beat Utah. Guess what? Whether or not they cared doesn't matter to the person who keeps the stats.
There isn't a column for "didn't give a shit", therefore "doesn't count". It counts the same.
There are 2 possibilities. Either every other college football fan/employee/person that is remotely familiar with the sport is insane...or you are. My money's on the latter.
They have Rutgers at the very bottom of the toilet bowl
I thought Military Bowl was ACC vs American so maybe the asterisk is there because it is outside of normal tieins.
Do me a favor and review this list and tell me which games count and which don't because I'd really like to know. Simply mark the ones that matter and those that didn't.
Apparently motivation plays a factor in the outcome of any bowl game so tell me which games the Tigers weren't motivated to win. That will help me make further revisions to the title game.
Since some games count and some don't you will let me know,. won't you which do and which don't? Because I'm having difficulty understanding which ones matter and which ones don't.
The argument being if it's not for a national championship it's not relevant? Ok, no bowl game ever mattered. They're all inconsequential and completely irrelevant to any result, ever. Dumb.
That's what I was thinking was possible. I know it's not an SEC bowl normally. I guess they expect an excessive amount of SEC teams to go bowling this year.
Logistically, Alabama/Clemson would suck to be played in California.
Yes.....please be true......we will beat Bama like a rented mule..again...like we always do....
Bowl games out West for Southern teams during the Holidays on short notice get real expensive. At least LA there is a chance of a deal compared to Phoenix which has limited routes/deals.
No what? You don't give a shit? Let me make it really simple. You can't negate a loss. You can try but you will lose. We can eliminate the "did not give a shit" as bullshit. I think that makes it a lot simpler. Play like shit, no matter what the lame excuse is, you will lose, and be given fair credit for the "lack of motivation" play to win, you will get the same credit, as if you don't care one way or the other. That's called life, by the way. Nobody wants to hear why you lost. I mean, nobody. I don't care to hear it, nor does anyone else. Our quarterback was hurt. Oh, yeah? I guess you shouldn't have put him in the game, then. You are one deep in that position? Nobody else "gives a shit"? I guess that's on you, regardless. See, the "didn't give a shit" doesn't wash. You can remove that element pretty easily. If "nobody gives a shit", then you play with backups who do, unless you are going to convince me that everyone took a dive, which I don't think would ever happen. Kids are limited in their exposure to the game, whether they be All-Americans, or walk-on, cast-offs, they have limited opportunity to play and contribute.
Never say Rudy? He gave a shit. He might not have been worth a proverbial shit. I might buy that as a valid argument, but he played to win. So would anyone else in that situation. In short, the "didn't give a shit" doesn't make any sense at all, ever. it's a cop-out. Keep trying to use it. Auburn "didn't give a shit" because......It wasn't the NC.
Let's apply that to 2008. Alabama clearly "Didn't give a shit" because it was the Sugar. Arguably the most celebrated bowl outside the Rose Bowl, but it wasn't a NC game. They didn't "give a shit". They were short-handed. Andre Smith wasn't playing in the game. But if they "didn't give a shit" it shouldn't matter either way, should it? So, that excuse doesn't wash, unless you can prove "nobody gave a shit". Saban did. I'd say he's the primary source of motivation. You can argue Alabama "played like shit", but I don't think that explains the loss. I think if you are a championship team, you don't let someone's attitude get in the way, that's assuming you are a championship team.
If you're not then you can apply that excuse any time you fall short. I think to have to rely upon a lame excuse when you're not at your best suggests they're spoiled brats. if they dont' get what they want, they cry, piss and moan. That's not a champion. So, if you take that approach "we weren't trying", then when you win a NC, you can't count it.
Fair is fair, after all. If you play like shit in one circumstance and don't count it, then you can't count it in another one simply because that's the circumstance you want.
