So, Tennessee is playing South Carolina...

I think we need a thread for sure whenever those guys play. A week long thread leading up to the game.

Those fan bases will only even be mildly aware the game is happening. They sell out home games 1 time a year for Kentucky and thats it.

Not sure which contingent is more obnoxious right now.

We can all agree at least Tennessee fields a great team this year, right? I don't think South Carolina is very good, which makes their bragging pretty bad.

We’ve sold out every game through the rest of the season. Didn’t y’all have empty seats for a ranked team on Tuesday? Don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll sell out Rupp on 2/16

Just because you sell out doesn't mean there won't be empty seats. You know that, right?

Currently TBA capacity is smaller than Rupps. fwiw

And if we're talking about attendance, how many attendance titles does UT have? I remember Syracuse beating UK a few times. Prior to TBA's renovation, it had a larger capacity than Rupp and still never won a title.

You ever try to sell out a 23,000 seat arena on a Tuesday night? I don't UT could do it on a consistent basis the way UK has.
UK doesn't lose very many attendance titles.

Well we have 21,700 sold out for the rest of the season.

UK has very good attendance, but what’s that have to do with you attempting to belittle a school who is consistently in the Top 10 nationally in b-ball attendance about how poor their attendance is?

Just admit you made a poor attempt at a slight, and we’ll move on.

You're not consistently in the Top 10 nationally. Just two years you were 20th. Looking back since TBA opened in 87, you've only been in the top 10 a few times.

Edit: Looking through the numbers. UT average rank in attendance since TBA opened is 10.48 despite having the largest college basketball arena in the nation. They were high when it opened then petered off. After that you all hover around low-mid teens, with an occasional UT having a decent team, then you go back up. As soon as you all aren't so decent you drop back down. It almost resembles bandwagon fans.

No, I simply stated a fact. Selling out of all your tickets doesn't mean you will have full attendance at your game.
Judging by the bolded part of your post above, you still don't understand that.
So what, TBA sold all of their tickets to scalpers, and a bunch of services that are going to try to resell them. It doesn't mean TBA is going to be full for those games.
Trying to get midnight madness tickets for UK has proven to be even more difficult. As soon as they go on sale, they sell out. I call in the second they are up for sale and it doesn't matter. They've already sold them all to companies that are going to resell them.

Do better.

Hey, Volguy, it was CB3UK that has the slight. It was a really dumb comment. Then you commented back and then some other UK fans jumped in when they shouldn't have. Should have just let CB own his silliness.

@kyjeff1

This is post I was referencing and originally quoted. Appears to be talking specifically about sellouts.

@DezyVol
And this is the post I responded to. You were the one with the slight (highlighted). I simply responded with a fact, which was, selling all of your tickets doesn't mean your arena will be full.

But he was clearly responding to a inflammatory comment by another UK fan. He was also correct in his response. It seemed less of a shot at UK as a shot back at CB.

Sure. But you see the irony behind a team that isn’t selling out their areana jabbing a team that is.......don’t you?

Attendance was 21,449. I bet they did "sell out". Looks to me like 1500 people just didn't show up. Scroll down on the link below.
There are plenty of season ticket holders that don't go to weeknight games, especially when the opponent is Mississippi State. Doesn't matter that they're ranked, it's still Mississippi State.

I get that, but he was wrong and I corrected him. A sellout doesn't automatically mean a full arena. Where did I slight him?

I mean, I don't think you meant it as benign as you are implying here. Why not correct the UK fan who started it?

Maybe I just missed it, but where did I say or imply that a sellout meant a full areana?

CB said UT only sells out one game a year, when UK comes to town.

I respond that UT has sold out every game remaining this season, and that U.K. (the team he’s a fan of) wasn’t sold out vs a top 25 opponent earlier this week.

Another UK fan (maybe you), suggested the size of the arena and it being a weekday was a factor.

While not disagreeing, I pointed out that UT’s arena is only marginally smaller.

That about sums up my position.

Right here in the first post I quoted. You talked about how TBA SOLD OUT every game through the rest of the season, then talked about how there were empty seats in Rupp on Tuesday night like selling out tickets and a full arena are the same thing.

"We’ve sold out every game through the rest of the season. Didn’t y’all have empty seats for a ranked team on Tuesday? Don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll sell out Rupp on 2/16"

Probably the same reason you never corrected Willie or captain fake wife in the anniversary thread.

Buddy.....

I was responding to a post about Tennessee never SELLING OUT their arena. There was a thread earlier this week about UK not selling out their arena for Miss St. Hence my comment that UK had empty seats (while it’s true that a ticket being sold, doesn’t mean there’s a person in the seat...surely a ticket not being sold means there’s definitely empty seats).

And I was correcting you. They most likely did sell it out, but they didn't pack the arena. This is what you are not understanding.

Ok. Stupid correction, but thanks.

There were over 1,200 ticket available the day before the game (according to the other thread), but maybe they dished them all out (I doubt it).

I just tried to buy tickets for UT's home game against Missouri. and lower arena center court was just over $140.

fwiw
