Going back to before the season started, let's pretend he committed to unc. Does Roy start him?
Honestly I don’t think he would. Kenny Williams, Cam Johnson & Luke Maye are guaranteed starters for Roy. Unless Zion can play PG or center, he’s not starting.
Roy loves having a “ traditional” big man at the 5, so I don’t see Zion starting at center.
I heard the same thing with Little. He starts wherever he goes, hows that working out?
I don't know man, Zion is probably the best player in the country right now. If Roy didn't start him, that might look bad. But who knows, he's done pretty well so far doing things his own way.I heard the same thing with Little. He starts wherever he goes, hows that working out?

Roy walks to the best of a different drum though. Very few people saw this out of Zion.Little and Zion are apples and oranges.
No way. He is not good enough to start for Roy Williams.Going back to before the season started, let's pretend he committed to unc. Does Roy start him?
Little was the 2nd ranked recruit coming out of high school.Little and Zion are apples and oranges.

Little is too busy trying to showcase at times instead of playing to his strengths. Crossing smaller guys up for mid range jumpers is not his game. Get to the rim and boards. Zion is just physically superior to everyone else so I would think he would start at PF for UNC and Brooks would go to the bench.
I agree Little isn't that big either. People like to make the Kawhi comp to Little. Keep in mind , Kawhi took 2 years in college and another 3-4 years in the pro's before he became Kawhi like he is today.I'm aware.
And that was based on potential and just happened here in the last year.
Zion has been the higher ranked player for years and is much more a finished product and the far better player of the two... Currently.
None of that means Roy would start Zion. The SG,SF & PF spots are occupied by seniors & Roy will start proven seniors over freshmen.I'm aware.

I would think putting Little in pick and roll opportunities with White would be the best way to get him going. Let Luke , Cam , and Kenny all stay on the perimeter. they are your best shooters from deep and are little threats at the rim.I've watched just about every Carolina game this year and I can tell you that their spacing sucks. That is a lot of Little's problem.

I don’t want this to sound like a slam towards Maye but I honestly think Maye should come off the bench.I'm not sure Little should start. I would like to see it but I think you can make a legit case he shouldn't if you watch him. Obviously, you can make a case for starting him as well. The issue is you would have to go really small with him or Luke at the 5.
This seems to be, from what I have observed over the years with Roy at UNC, the correct answer. I also believe that Roy's stubbornness would quickly fade when he measures what Zion does for his teams. He is very efficient and also brings a lot of energy to the table. Right from the opening tip. Its good to have that energy to start a game.Agree that he wouldn’t start. It’s a Roy thing.
Agree. I don't think he could hold Zion back long. Little, on the other hand, isn't doing enough to force Roy's hand. Hopefully, that changes. If it doesn't, the second weekend of the tourney is as far as this season goes. This seems to be, from what I have observed over the years with Roy at UNC, the correct answer. ThisIf Roy was being real he’d bench Williams or even Maye at this point. Both suck thus far.

Maye is good at scoring & shooting 3’s. Maye is good against mid major type teams.
You can tell that he’s just overmatched against big time teams & players.

Very good point. Little getting playing time with White, Williams, Johnson & Maye is TOTALLY different than him getting playing time with Woods, Black, Robinson & Manley.I agree and have said as much. I just don't think it will happen.
Agree completely. Little is lost on both sides. However, he needs to start playing with better players who can help him as well. Roy has started plenty of freshman over the years. He is pretty hardcore about them being a certain level of readiness though, which is weird considering he isn't the same about PT in general sometimes.
Just because Little is playing Little doesn't man Zion would not start.Going back to before the season started, let's pretend he committed to unc. Does Roy start him?
Or KentuckyStarting for UNC as a freshmen isn't easy. In all fairness to Nassir, he would probably start for less talented teams like Kansas, Duke, and Gonzaga.
