If Rice does not start hitting they could lose to Texas today. They have their Ace going but it was a bit dicey for them through 8 yesterday.

And the surprises continue. UCI 14 - Oregon State 2. Who would'a thunk it?

Two of the three big Florida teams are run out of the tourney leaving only Miami and Bethune Cookman to determine the Florida representative for moving on. Perhaps Florida State would fare better hitting the road somewhere like in San Luis Obispo instead of always playing and losing at home. For some teams, playing on the road is a better course toward getting out of a Regional. UCI for example, since 2007 have hosted only once and failed to advance in that one opportunity to host in 2009. In 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and presently, 2014 they are a combined 19-8 playing in, arguably the toughest Regionals in the country and winning at National seeds, Texas in 2007, and in a commanding position presently against the number 1 seed. Go figure.

It looks like parity has embraced college baseball with a vengeance.

I cannot believe that Augie had an Austin Super Regional fall into his lap. I guess it wasn't his time to go.

I can't believe UCI ousted the number one seed in their crib. [IMG] Only two words come to mind as the reason: Mike Gillespie.
