Every team needs one or two cupcakes. Big Ten teams play 9 conf games plus another P5 game. That leaves only two cupcakes for most Big Ten teams.
Most SEC teams play 3-4 cupcakes.

    This weekend:
    Alabama brings on The Citadel

Florida brings in the night Idaho Vandals

Kentucky continues their string of non-conference cupcakes with Middle Tennessee st

    Liberty visits Auburn

We’ve been waiting all year for Rice against LSU.

Grow a pair SEC, and fix your schedules!

The Big Ten is loaded with cupcakes this year. The Food Network is going to give them their own show.

    Wisconsin - cupcake
    Michigan St - cupcake
    Penn St - cupcake
    Maryland - cupcake
    Minnesota - cupcake
    Purdue - cupcake
    Northwestern - cupcake
Rutgers - they’ll feed you the damn cupcake
    Indiana - cupcake
    Nebraska - corn induced cupcake
    Iowa - a caucusing cupcake

OSU and Michigan are the only teams of note in the Big Ten this year.

The Big Ten is college basketball conference now.

LSU has played Rice close to 60 times.
    Including every year between 1932-1983.

Houston is the home to LSU's largest alumni base.
So that game is not just LSU playing a cupcake because it has historical significance

    They hired Tennessee Tech's coach.
Sad to see Wayne Graham go but Rice should be fighting for a CWS again by next year.
Their new coach is already trying to push Texas out of Episcopal HS in Houston.
Probably the top baseball HS in the area.

If you believe that I don't know what to say....
Southern California is still the mecca of HS baseball.
It is not even close. Houston is probably second followed by either GA or South Florida.

But....we are all still well behind Southern California when it comes to developing elite baseball players.

Like I said there is still a huge gap between Southern California and the rest of the country at producing MLB talent.

California as a whole has 4× the players in major league baseball
Has over 20% of American born players on Major League Rosters.

Rice and LSU played every year between 1932-1983.

LSU has only played Houston 3 times in history compared to almost 60 with Rice.

You can say what you want but LSU playing Rice has historical significance
