Schools w/ 2 Final Fours in 5 straight decades

I think they also have a streak of at least 2 final fours every decade since the 1960s. So, that makes 6.

Good find, yes. Trumps Kansas. However nearly all those UNC appearances and titles are with Kansas alum as coach (Dean) or Kansas trained coaches. (Roy)

Never thought of it that way. In that case, congrats to Kansas on winning the NCAA title in 82, 93, 2005, 2009, and 2017.

Sorry, but I'm taking away your 2008 title and rightfully giving the credit to Oklahoma State.

The rules are getting really confusing here. So, does UNC get their 1988 title because Larry Brown went to UNC, or does it to back to KU because he was coached by Dean Smith who went to KU before coaching UNC?

On another note, congratulations Army on your 5 titles: 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010 and 2015.

So really, Kansas has been to at least 4 final fours each of the last 5 decades?

And only 3 titles to show for it. They are less successful than Cal somehow smh

And Purdue with 10 titles! Thanks oh pea.

Michigan has been to final 4, 5 of the last 6 decades. Missed the OO decade.

They are 1-5 championship games though.

But you could not find their little asses prior to that! Eyeroll

Cause we shared a league with UNC, NC State, Wake and Maryland. Remember back then Bert only ONE team could represent a conference. Duke has certainly made up for lost time :D

Yes I could.

and at that time NC State, Wake, Maryland, UNC nor Duke could even come close to Rupp's Kentucky Wildcats. Holy shit, today NC State, Wake, Maryland, and most of the ACC could not take on UK. NC St, Wake and Maryland still don't compete.

I am really sorry that you don't understand college basketball, today and then.

Why did UK dominate the SEC?

They were the best team in the damned South, not just the SEC. UNC won one title in 1957. Hell by that time UK had already won 3. The next year it would be up to 4 to UNC's 1. Plus no other ACC team was even in the contest. At that time LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee and many other teams were superior to Wake and Maryland. GEEZE.

So don't go there because the ACC (a very young conference at that time) could and did not compete with the SEC in basketball or football.

Bert, you asked me why didn't Duke have any FF prior to the 60s. I explained they were in a conference with other powerful basketball programs and at the time, only one team could go to the NCAA Tournament. It was because of ACC schools that the NCAA decided to allow more than one team from a conference because they complained about not having the best team represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament.

Just be lucky Kentucky never had to compete with other powerhouses and always earned the SEC's berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Does Kansas have the worst final 4 record? Final game record?
