We are now 1 thread shy for each of the current blue blood coaches.
Also, where would he fall in your Greatest Coaches of All Time vote?

I dam near posted, "Twilight Zone".... 🤣Twilight zone.
Didn't know where his post went 🤣
Anybody want to start a thread for the remaking blue blood coach?
No, he’s a peer to the other blue blood coaches. Is he Cincinatti's coach?
Ok....Roy has 3 titles....9 FF's...79 NCAAT wins.
IMO, very underrated.
He, Knight, Wooden, K, Rupp are interchangeable IMO...All great...hard to separate.
Also underrated: Jim Calhoun......3 titles.....4 FF's.
Possible....What is crazy is, that if not for inclement weather, Wooden would have been the HC at Minnesota...1. Wooden....continue.

Yeah the freshman really possibly/probably cost Wooden. But on the flip side, it hurt others as well. Wooden is undoubtedly Top 5'ish....His first 16 years at UCLA were OK.....And....if not for the fact that freshmen were ineligible for varsity play in 1966, Kareem, Allen, and company likely would have won a NC. No Glory Road.
Note:: Don Haskins was 3-0 vs Wooden as a HC.

But, ummmmm those last 12? Kinda of good, huh? Only won 10 titles in that span. Crazy shit. Freshman rule changed things....But man. To only have 5 NCAAT appearances in 16 seasons---to winning 10 NCAAT's in 12 years is fukin' absurd.
How funny would it be if they had called it “Glory Hole Road”?!No Glory Road.
Roy doesn't get enough credit for bringing KU out of the flames.
That Danny Manning team helped but Larry Brown left them on in trouble
That program could have easily collapses.
Roy got that program back on the tracks and definitely left it in a better position than when he took over.
You could say the same thing about UNC as well.
I know May, Felton and McCants were already in the program but not many people would have said UNC would win a NC quick when Roy went there.
Yeah, they were all about to revolt or leave. Roy definitely benefited from that talent but he took that disgruntled talent and made it into a killer team. To me, that was tougher than bringing in your own guys and winning tbh.
Never figured out why Marvin Williams couldn't get it in the NBA.
He was the final piece to that puzzle
Roy didn't walk into nice car that was going down the road. He walked into a Cadillac that was burning on the side of the road. Was able to put out the flames and get it going again
Am happy that our players get to the NBA but am much more interested in how much they do for while in schoolMarvin had a really solid career but yeah, he certainly wasn't a star. None of Roy's guys have been really, which is more of a credit than a knock though. He seems to get the best out of them, though also could just be lucky in getting players who are better suited for college than the NBA.

Exactly. Pretty amazing what he did when we weren’t getting any of the big dogs.Marvin had a really solid career but yeah, he certainly wasn't a star. None of Roy's guys have been really, which is more of a credit than a knock though. He seems to get the best out of them.
