My avatar hopes that you’re really wrong on some of this.

But as always, thank you for putting in the work and sharing.

If you break it down by the ACC, it may not seem so bad. You'd have a 1st and 2nd Teamer. And one more guy who's just on the cusp of making an all-conference team.

1st Team
4. Paolo Banchero, Duke
23. Buddy Boeheim, Syracuse
30. Keve Aluma, Virginia Tech
38. Armando Bacot, North Carolina
48. Isaiah Wong, Miami

2nd Team
58. Michael Devoe, Georgia Tech
60. Dawson Garcia, North Carolina
65. Caleb Mills, Florida State
71. Jayden Gardner, Virginia
74. Mark Williams, Duke

3rd Team
80. Anthony Polite, Florida State
89. Jae'lyn Withers, Louisville
94. Prentiss Hubb, Notre Dame
117. Nate Lasewski, Notre Dame
119. Manny Bates, NC State

Just Missed
122. Wendell Moore, Duke
132. Caleb Love, North Carolina
135. Reece Beekman, Virginia
141. Samuell Williamson, Louisville

That's Illinois, Purdue and Michigan with 8 of the top 14 players. Interesting.

Nothing too crazy. Last year, Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa had 7 of the top 10 guys on the 1st and 2nd Teams (coaches poll).

But yeah, I feel like those three schools have separated themselves from the rest of the pack.

I would love to see some predictions on the order of finish. If I can't get top 3 with the first pick, fml

Sometime in the next week I'll include composite rankings of all the players drafted (there's at least 7 top 100 lists). That should give us some sense of at least who has an advantage - or perhaps a higher ceiling.

SEC

13. Scotty Pippen, Vanderbilt
15. Kennedy Chandler, Tennessee
18. Javhon Quinerly, Alabama
25. TyTy Washington, Kentucky
33. Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky

I have a feeling Kevin Obanor will be our best player. What is your thoughts on him? He was pretty good last year for Oral Roberts and had a hell of a tournament.

I think Strawther is gonna be a bucket for Gonzaga this year but no complaints. 2 top 5 and another ranked 45 works for me.

Selling ur boy mark williams short imho.

granted last time i saw him he went 20/20 on us and ended our season so…..

Also hope ur right that williamson warrants being on the list, we need him to take a step up beyond being a hustle/rebound guy this year. Hopefully him and withers both explode this year knowing we actually have some depth at the 5 this year beyond Malik and they wont be asked to play out of position every game.

Good list though.

Yeah, but that was against UL.

Seriously, if he's anything like the ACCT, we're in for a long night next week.

I hate to mention this @della, Fulkerson should be on that list.
I obv dont dollow ut too closely but love to gamble and i feel like fulk took a step back last season. I thought he played a helluva lot better the season before for whatever reason, might have been fc talent around him idk.

IDK, or you just watched his games against UK. His games 2 season ago were much better than last.

We mighta lost to duke but we still beat Kentucky!!! Ahhhh kentucky sucked, on court play spoke for itself.

Am i doing that right? Even tho i know yall agree lol.

just joking from the other thread derail.

Yea i thought thats what i said, i thought he took a big step back last year as opposed to the year before.

And na i dont usually watch much UK unless i have money on them or is a matchup like duke/kansas/unc/etc obv louisville as well. I dont watch too many sec league games period. Check the box scores read recaps and stuff. Read the gambling trends.

I really like to find 5-6 terrible teams and just bet against them every damn game. Im talking bottom of the barrel mid major terrible.

Are you good?

So dukedevils if u wanna go ahead an lemme know who gonna be the 10 worst d1 teams this year id be much obliged.

Yea im done with the other thread.

Fun for a while but everything gets tired eventually.

Just thought it was ironic its almost a complete reversal in basketball last season, not that we were very good either, but all yall have admitted yall sucked, just like i admitted we suck in football yet the responses were still all the same, louisville sucks. And somehow agreeing with me makes some point somehow 😂.

To be fair, you all have been for a while in both sports.

mehhh we werent terrible the covid year in basketball, couldve won a game or two in the tourney maybe, in my biased opinion. But yea still not disagreeing. Not quite seeing the relevancy but whatever.

Silly argument that started with the silly thought that uk had any kind of shot at the playoffs. im good 😉

Dead on about mark williams though. I literally didnt even remember him from our first game bc Hurt went bananas and he hadnt really emerged.

Id hate to think about what he looks like this year, if he can make a similair frosh-soph jump as alot of big men do.

Reece Beekman might be my favorite name of the year sans coffee cock burn

No frazier or brooks? How the F we supposed to settle the argument of the offseason???

right back off the rails 🤣

His shooting splits are off the charts. I just haven't seen enough of him to make a proper evaluation. It's always an adjustment when you transfer up. I think there's a good chance he's more valuable than Kevin McCullar. I feel like Shannon is a borderline All-American. So, if Obanor is anywhere near Shannon's level, you all should have a great season.

I hate to mention this @della, Fulkerson should be on that list.

If he plays like he did in 2020, then yes, he should absolutely be in the top 150. He just regressed a little too much for my liking last season. Also, I really like Justin Powell. With Chandler, Bailey, and Powell in the backcourt, I don't expect Fulkerson's usage will go up.

I think Strawther is gonna be a bucket for Gonzaga this year but no complaints. 2 top 5 and another ranked 45 works for me.

Strawther just might blow up. He looked amazing in that scrimmage. I could see him being a first round pick in a year or two. Guess I have a hard time untangling who the next most valuable Zag will be - Strawther, Bolton, and Sallis all seem like good candidates.

Selling ur boy mark williams short imho.

Good list though.

Didn't Williamson have a reputation as a shooter in high school? I swear I saw him win a three-point contest somewhere. Perplexing, to be honest. Not sure who the #1 and #2 options will be, but I think you guys will be one of those tough-minded teams that's tough to score on. I think you guys make it back to the NCAAs.

Not really sure who the #2 guy for Duke will be. That's part of my hesitation. Williams has 1st Team All-ACC potential, no question. From the preseason, however, I want to say the second most valuable player has either been Wendell Moore or Trevor Keels. I think Williams is a solid candidate for ACC Defensive POY. With all the attention Paolo merits, Williams will get his fair share of open looks. His ceiling could be a top 30 player. But, his floor could be much lower than 74.

So dukedevils if u wanna go ahead an lemme know who gonna be the 10 worst d1 teams this year id be much obliged.

100% chance you'll have multiple SWAC and MEAC teams. Those schools are bloody awful. In KenPom history (20 years!), the SWAC and MEAC have had a combined 4 schools in the top 150.

No frazier or brooks? How the F we supposed to settle the argument of the offseason???

right back off the rails 🤣

Haha. Yeah, I should have put one of them in there. They both have legitimate arguments to be in the top 150. Brooks has proven to be a more efficient offensive player. But, I might actually give Frazier the nod because he's one of the best defenders in college basketball.

Im not saying ur wrong, but i dont think williamson had the rep of being a dead eye long range shooter in hs but i could be wrong.. i know coming in many pumped up his mid range and pull up jumper but not so much his outside shot iirc.

Here’s Williamson’s scouting report from Evan Daniels -

“A long, lean wing prospect with good size for the position at 6-foot-6. A good all-around athlete that will be able to guard threes and twos at the next level. His shot mechanics are good and he's a good shooter off the catch, particularly from mid-range. From deep he's inconsistent, but we project that he'll be good shooter from distance in time. Is a good rebounder for a perimeter player. Areas for improvement include strength, consistency from long-range and ball handling. There's a lot of upside here and could see him developing into a NBA player after college.”

I love reading these from previous years.

^^^^ pretty spot on to this day. Good rebounder, good mid range, inconsistent from 3. Guess ill hope he develops that long ball too.

See! I knew I wasn't crazy. Williamson won this 3-point contest. And the announcers were raving about how he was one of the best 3-point shooters in the class.

He clearly has the tools to play in the NBA. But yes, as you both mentioned, he needs to be much more consistent from deep.

Williamson is a real good rebounder he was very up and down first year got a lot better last year, could make jump this year. The issues I see up to this point in his career is he struggles with contact and in traffic, forces turnovers in those situations or misfires by being forced into taking tough shots, and doesn't get to the FT line. If he adds a little bit of muscle/strength he might be able to get better with all that. His career path is kind of aligned with what a college player would be back in the day. Struggle, get better, maybe turn the corner as Jr/Sr. Louisville is real fortunate the kid stuck with the program.

Good stuff as always. Should do a risers/fallers from last year's ranking.

Fulk will always have a place in my heart for the time he went off on UK, but truth be told he is not a very good rebounder, so he probably doesn't belong on that list.

Dang nice find. I was totally unaware of that. Im not so sure the only thing holding him back might be between his ears bc he has the physical tools.

Not to say hes been a bust or bad player by any means. Honestly for the ones that arent surefire lotto studs, being named to the mcdaa team is sometimes the worst thing to happen to a kid bc then hes never viewed in the same light with the same expectations as lower ranked recruits. Imo obv its a great honor too.
