I think most folks are pulling for MM. Not against LSU or for FSU. MM.

Sorry for the incoherent post. I was going to ask FSU fans, if LSU pitcher had walked the guy w the winning hit, how tough is the next guy?

Not a good year for me this year in college baseball. Only 1 of the 5 teams I support made it in and got bounced in the regionals. If Coastal hadn't won their conference none would have made it. @CoachHunter4 correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, considering I'm one of them any other time when they aren't playing FSU, I'd say pretty smart lol. LSU baseball fans have a side that is extremely knowledgeable and knows not only LSU baseball, but ALOT of college baseball in general. You have the fans that are pretty irrational and live their lives through LSU baseball and no matter what, if LSU doesn't win the title or atleast go to the CWS every year, it's a failure as bad as losing every game. Very ruthless as well on that front.

I'll tell you what the majority of LSU fans I've ever come across (family, friends, just met or general), they know nothing of any other program or school. Those are LSU fans because of strictly it being LSU. They don't have hardly a clue of college baseball history and programs like FSU, Miami, USC, Stanford might as well be Mcneese State or a D2 school. It's not that they don't respect other programs. They just don't care about anything other than LSU. Leaving Saturday's game, some fans I was talking to had no idea who Marshall Mcdougal(sp?) was or about his hitting 6 HRs in one game at Maryland, or Deion Sanders and Buster Posey played at FSU. A good bit had no idea Martin was the all-time winningest college baseball coach or heard of him before this SR series. Of course (My friend) has the most famous HR in college baseball history at the CWS and was a Tiger, so it didn't work out well for them when they quizzed me. I later told them I'm here all the time as a Tiger, but just this time I won't be.

Overall, the best fans in the country and at the same time, the most ruthless, cutthroat, slice your mom's throat as your kids watch her bleed out. lol sorta exaggerating, but rough. Now that is baseball for the most part. Football? Dear Lord!! On a Saturday night in Death Valley, look out!

I told many of the Animals (Our rowdy loyal fans in Section B at Howser), that we might win a game and even the series, but you will NEVER EVER take over Alex Box. This was after some of them were talking about the FSU fans taking over if FSU goes up and goes up big. Ask Mike Martin about Alex Box and LSU fans now. Hell, look at his interview after game 1.
In his 45 years of coaching, he has never been in a place as loud as the Box. I have videos I'll try to post later.

We attend a good bit of LSU baseball games and have access to seats in every part of The Box. I've had many friends and a family member that have played at LSU. If you have never been and you're a baseball fan, you need to check this off your bucket list. They were VERY gracious though after we won, coming up to Nole fans and sharking hands and patting us on our backs wishing us to win it all and will be rooting hard for FSU and 11(Martin). Martin had nothing but glory and praise for LSU program and fans and loved his class and what he had to say about LSU.

You are correct. We beat some good teams early in the season. Ranked as high as #11-12 in the country. The wheels absolutely fell off. Team ERA ended up like 5.70

SEC has 4 teams in CWS and Arkansas is only SEC team in its side of the bracket.

LSU is in a 10 year title drought. It is tough to get to Omaha much less win the whole thing.

Congrats to all the teams that made it to Omaha.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last two times LSU has hosted a super regional they have been beaten by 2 major underdogs. Coastal and then FSU? Was there any between? Not trying to flame anybody, but those seemed like easy passes to Omaha.

They ate more than just a booger yesterday. I turned the game off in the fifth or sixth inning when all three Ole Miss batters stood there and watched the third strikes go by and didn't even bother to swing their bats. One of them stood at the plate and watched all three strikes go by without even swinging the bat.

If they were not going to even attempt to hit a ball when a trip to the ****ing college World Series was at stake then I wasn't about to waste another minute watching that crap. And our coach did what he does so often... leaves a pitcher in the game for multiple innings while the other team knocks his pitches all over and out of the park.

Congrats. Your guys actually wanted to win the game.

Stony Brook beat them a few years ago in BR, but I think they hosted when they went to the finals vs. UF and lost. I'm not sure about that though. I may be missing a year in there somewhere.

Edit..lost the 2016 super vs. Coastal Carolina, and lost super in Corvallis vs. OSU last year.

Thought so. I had been paying attention early in the season, but had too many distractions. By that time my Longhorns baseball team dropped out of the rankings and so did my #3 team Coastal. #2 team Wheat Shockers started off pretty bad as did the #4 Dirtbags. #5 C of C was decent but early out in their conference tourney sealed their fate.

I wouldn’t see FSU as a major underdog. Well not against LSU anyway. They had very similar teams with injuries. It showed in the series as well as both games were tight.

FSU has more power than someone people realize. If there wasn’t a 30’ fence in right field at Howser, we would have more homers.

FSU shouldn’t have been a 3 seed though. That was a joke. Winning record in the ACC, but I guess if anything the disrespect motivated our guys. Hell if we are are the same region, a 2 or 3 seed is the same. You just don’t want to be the 4.

I've always said on this board that LSU has the best and worst fans in the country. Anyway, congratulations to your Noles, and like a lot of other LSU fans, we're rooting hard for MM and your program!! Win the whole damn thing please!!

Thanks man. I'm trying like hell to find time to go catch atleast a few games up there, but work and my son's football an baseball metro schedule is making it nearly impossible. No matter what happens, we have nothing to lose. Arkansas and Vandy are the only ones that worry me and Vandy is on the other bracket, but we have Arkansas in our first game. We MUST win this game or we are done. We don't have the pitching depth to go through he losers bracket.

    IMO Vandy wins it all.

Robby Martin, Freshman, BUT before you or someone blast PM, Martin has a higher BA than Mendoza, actually highest on the team at .332 BA, and even though has 8 fewer at bats, has the same amount of hits and 17 less strikeouts. He just doesn't have Mendoza's HR power (16 to 4), but that didn't matter here. Now I still would have walked him, because he is a freshman vs. Mendoza has world's of experience and it atleast gives you a force out on any base but home. It just wasn't so cut and dried as some might think.

Looks like Texas will lose Baty to the Mets but Southard is sticking with the Horns.
Expect this guy to be a first round pick in three years.
Should add 4-6 mph fastball by then as well. Will be frightening in three years.

Now that I know that, I can't fault the decision, only the pitch selection. I'm pretty sure he threw a slider when he was getting his fastball by everyone else by about a foot.

Yeah this year, LSU was a tiny, tiny favorite in that Super. LSU was pretty underwhelming at times this year.
