103 here today. Only 17% humidity though, so I'm wearing a light jacket.
Better bring some of that dry air with you!
I'll try. Been welding much of the afternoon, hence the jacket. Talk about hot, even given the low humidity.
I got one of these for my birthday a few weeks back. Best. Gift. Ever.
EDIT: Doesn't even have to be ridgid. Cordless fan = Awesome
Oh lawdy man!! It's still over 100 now, and was 110 earlier.
But yeah, that dry heat and all, haha!
You know what else has dry heat? A ****ing oven!
"It's hot.... damn hot.... Arabian hot...."
I got a 3 ft fan with multiple speeds and thermostat attached to the rafters in the shop.
Where you at op? I'm in the south with the dreaded "humidity"... I've been out west more times than I care to talk about and they can keep that dry heat bullshat. I'd rather sweat my balls of vs have a heat gun in my face for a "breeze".
Southern Idaho. And yes, it's similar to a heat gun. Ever hear of a swamp cooler?
I have. They seem to be pretty popular in tejas and westward. Is that what you guys use instead of AC?
It’s hot too.
I did for a few years. Before that I didn't have anything but fans. That sucked. New place has AC though, which is easier to regulate.
We've been lucky so far this season. I think the highest it's been 'round here is low/mid 90's. That will change next month though...
If you really want to keep Californians out of Idaho, these are the types of posts you should be making, not your phony ass “it sucks, stay away” posts. 103 is proof that it sucks there. You need to remind us that comfortable climates are worth the high cost of living.
Thx. Didn't know these were available. Picking up a Dewalt for Mr BG's bday.
If he spends time outdoors (camping, fishing, grilling, reading and so on) he will enjoy, trust me.
Make sure your fiddle stays somewhere between 30-60 percent humidity most of the time. I have had a couple suffer from either extreme...cracks and or open seams that had to be repaired. Fortunately none of my collectible ones, a 1927 and a 1943 and 1870.
Tired of this heat.
Was down in your neck of woods a few weeks ago. It was hot in LA.
Do you have electric there? If so, set up a go fund me account so we can get you AC.
It's downstairs where it's considerably cooler, but still dry. Did I tell you about the chance to play a Gagliano violin last year?
I'll make a thread about it...
"It's hot! Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest things is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking." Well, tell me what it feels like. "Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! It's so damn hot, I saw little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" What do you think it's going to be like tonight? "It's gonna be hot and wet! That's nice if you're with a lady, but ain't no good if you're in the jungle!"
Wow! No. Dang!
He left us too soon.
Mine is dying a slow death. That makes it even worse, lol! Have to go outside to cool off, grrrr!!
I've replaced everything but the motor mount, because it's not removable... and that's the part
that is all fubar'd, ugh!
Make sure that you don't get couch locked!!
Starting today we wil be 99 or higher the next 14 days. 9 of those over 100. Doesn't bother me as humidity is low. So what do we do....go to OBX, NC this Thurday for 8 days and sweat like a pig in humidity.
It was 98 degrees with 63% humidity yesterday. I damn near literally sweat my balls off. I'd take a harsh winter storm over that shit any day.
Does that have the water mister attachment? That saved us at Kenny Cheney concert last week at 102 degrees.
No but it is hybrid and works with a 18v battery or extension cord (115VAC).
I could easily imagine affixing a "home-brew-poor-man's" mister rig to it with a little copper tubing, water valve and some stand-off material for practically no cost.
I think we hit 73 today. Brrrr!!
Give the North Fork of the Payette a spin OP, that’ll cool you off!
I still remember that
what's milk do, not a damn thing unless you believe it will
After the winter we had two years back, I swore I wouldn’t cuss the summer weather....but this stretch is pushing me! Tried to validate a rifle at 1000 today and the mirage was so bad I couldn’t see the target. Only 14 more days of this convection oven bs.
I like it like this. I hate winter.
"Why do my arms feel so heavy? Aw hell, why can't I move"
Welp. someone grab me a Red Bull and pass that chit!
Today here it was 92 with 77% humidity...heat index of 100...a melting 100.
