"Sam Casinelli did well for us as he has been outstanding for us by pinch running as he works hard and prepares for his stealing skills." Taylor Turski improves his record to 7-0 as he pitched 9 innings gave up 1 run and recorded 7 strikeouts in the game. " Chase Grant's hit was very clutch for us with 2 strikes on him and we weren't good at swinging the bat with two strikes but our two strike adjustment was good as he clutched the bat tight with his hands did well for a freshman an opportunity to have." "At the College of the Desert Baseball Tournament, this for the kids that we have to pick and choose to where we are getting Nico Holm hasn't played until today but he got 2 hits for us.

Graham Gomez is the winner for the Comets at 1-0 as he pitched 6 innings gave up 4 hits 3 runs 2 earned 0 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Texas Tech Red Raiders score 4 runs in the 3rd inning 2 runs in the 8th as they defeated San Diego State by a 6-3 score-By David A. Willauer-Contributing Editor-Tony Gwynn Stadium-San Diego State University-San Diego, CA-3-15-15: The Red Raiders of Texas Tech University from the competitive Big 12 baseball conference won the windup of a 3 game series as they scored 4 runs in the third and 2 in the 8th as they defeated the Aztecs of San Diego State by a 6-3 score to take game 3 of this series

Our squad showed some character but we defeated ourselves in the 3rd inning we gave up 6 outs we had some of our players steal a base along with a missed pop up to rightfield Texas Tech your going to pay for it." said Mark Martinez. "Starting pticher Mark Seyler pitched well today but it was his first loss against four wins and we don't depend on him to strikeout every person in every game but he did what he was supposed to do and our defense didn't play well behind him. said Martinez.

For the Aztecs at 15-5 Andrew Brown went 1 for 4 with a single, a run scored and a rbi, Chase Calabuig went 1 for 2 with a double and 1 rbi. " Chase is a freshman and riding a good hitting streak is learning the ropes from every at bat and he deserves a spot in our lineup." stated Mark Martinez. "We expect relief pitcher C J Saylor not to give up 2 runs in the top of the eighth that is very ridiculous he is our closer he came in and pitched very soft."

Corey Taylor is the winner for the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 14-5 as he pitched 4 innings gave up 2 hits 1 run 2 walks 5 strikeouts and teammate Dominic Moreno records his 3rd save. Mark Seyler is the loser at 4-1 as his 4 game winning streak on the mound for the San Diego State Aztecs at 15-5

Steven Palleras steals home for San Diego State Aztec 4-3

By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Storm Stadium-NCAA Regional Baseball-Lake Elsinore, CA-5-29-15-The 4th seed San Diego State Aztecs known for their baseball tournament heroics after a 15-7 loss to Fresno State in the first round came back through the back of the bracket of the Mountain West Tournament with wins over Air Force by an 8-2 score, in a rematch after being swept at home by Nevada Reno in 3 games but the tables were going in SDSU's direction as they defeated the top seed Wolfpack 9-7, with a very key 7-6 win over Fresno State along with 2 wins over the New Mexico Lobos by scores of 11-1 and 6-4 for the Mountain West Conference title pulled off one of the surprise upsets in the game as they took a 3-2 lead before the top seed Gauchos from the University of California at Santa Barbara tied the game at 3-3 on a sacrifice rbi bunt in the bottom of the 5th inning. With the pitcher not looking at 3b Steve Palleras scored the winning run in the top of the 8th and defeated the top seed and Big West Champion Gauchos of University of California at Santa Barbara by a 4-3 score which was the Aztecs first win in an NCAA Regional Baseball Tournament since 2009 .

Mark Martinez San Diego State Baseball Coach: "When your facing one of the top pitcher in the country in UCSB's Dillon Tate, our runs are premium but you have to find a way to score as Steve Palleras had a great night as he went 3 for 3 with 3 hits 3 runs and 1 rbi had a good night before Steve scored the winning run we made eye contact to find out how the pitcher got out of the windup for UCSB, while at third base we made eye contact the second time and said lets score the winning run for us as he (Dillon Tate) threw a high pitch and Steven slid in safely he (Dillon Tate) is considered being the potential number one draft pick in the country you have to think outside the box it was the winning run I looked at we looked liked real smart coaches you have to gamble and we won."

Bubba Derby was the winning pitcher at 8-4 as he pitched 9 innings gave up 7 hits gave up 3 runs which were earned and 9 strikeouts.

"When you go 9 innings I had few change ups but my fastball worked a lot as I kept the UCSB batters off balance this was a key win for us". said Bubba Derby.

Dillon Tate one of the top pitchers in the country goes to 8-5 for the Gauchos as he pitched 8 innings gave up 4 runs 4 earned and recorded 11 strikeouts.

In the first game the Gauchos of University of California at Santa Barbara will face the Trojans of the University of Southern California at 3:00 pm in the losers bracket while in the winners bracket at 7:00 pm the Cavaliers of Virginia with a 6-1 win over the USC Trojans will take on the Aztecs of San Diego State.

"When you in the the NCAA Regional Playoffs you need to get your game 1 starter to pitch deep (Connor Jones) in the game he (Connor) did that for us ever since Nathan Kirby went down Connor has stepped up for us, has pitched deep for our club in the ball game that is what were looking for to start this regional off." stated O Connor.
