1. Her's was just through the lymph nodes
2. The cancer traveled through her lymph nodes, so I'd say yes in a way
3. She was definitely way more tired than usual, no weight gain, breathing wasn't different before but is a little different afterwards
4. Surgery went great, like I said in the first post, they took the whole thyroid out so it was about a seven hour process. Odds on returning are pretty low as long as you catch it early enough and get the right treatment. Thankfully with thyroid cancer, the chances of it spreading are basically zero.
My wife is doing great now. She has to take a thyroid pill in the morning for the rest of her life, which basically acts as her thyroid since it's gone. Hearing the word "cancer" is always scary, but there's a ton of great doctors out there who can rock it out. They also told us that although no cancer is good, thyroid cancer is probably the best and easiest one to have. Let me know if you have any questions or just want to talk about it.
