OT: opinions on the Leveon Bell /Connors situation?

Gotta give Connors major credit. Guy has absolutely stepped up and the Steelers aren’t missing Bell this far.

Oh he wants to play Superman hero I’m the best when he’s winning and doing well then he behaves like a complete jackass after he lost the super bowl. Not to mention the way he pranced around not going after the ball he fumbled. I just can’t stand the guy.

I definitely get all of that. The super bowl fumble is one of the most infuriating plays of all time for me. What a pussy.

And then of course his reaction after fivehead Manning got the clinching first down.

I don't blame Bell for holding out for more guaranteed money, especially when comparing to what other RBs have gotten.

But Connor being so good definitely did not help Bell's negotiating power

I get that Bell is standing up for something he believes in, and it’s commendable.

But, it’s also massively stupid. RB is one of the most replaceable positions in the game, regardless of how good you are. You gotta take as much guaranteed money as you can get, for every year you can get it, and save enough so that you can walk away before you’re forced out - with your body and brains intact.

He’ll never admit it, but what he did this year was a huge mistake.

I'm just supremely happy that Connor has stepped into the RB role with such ferocity. The guy is a beast. I don't fault Bell, but I really dislike the business side of sports interfering with the actually playing of the game.

this is where the players union needs to step in and tell Bell he is not above the game and also remind Bell that he did sign the contract. the shelf life for a RB is 7 maybe 8 years.
