Really? I thought Vikings was terrible, gave up on it in season 2.

I don't know much about King Alfred, thought he came off well in Last Kingdom. What were they lacking in his portrayal?

He’s one of the greatest Kings in England’s history. In fact, he’s the only king in English history to be called “The Great” (Alfred The Great). He is responsible for defeating the Saxons. I feel like they made him come off too weak and petty. I think there was better ways to make the point that he’s super religious than letting religion dictate every decision. Vikings does a better job at making Alfred com across as intellectually and strategically brilliant but he gets so little screentime is frustrating. This final half of the second season looks like it will mainly be on english soil so I think I’m gonna get my wish.

The actor was damn good I just don’t like how the character was written.

I thought Vikings was decent for a few seasons but it just became so repetitive that I lost interest.

Im interested in seeing if Homeland sticks the landing with their series finale tonight. Still have tv show PTSD from the way game of thrones ended.

PS4. Don’t get to play much. Warzone is the first CoD game I’ve purchased since MW2

Yea, almost totally stopped playing a year or two ago. More of a Battlefield guy than COD, but have been playing hell out of WZ last few weeks. Did just purchase the full game. Glad the COD lobbies are as big of a shitshow as they used to be. Almost nostalgic.

LOVE Battlefield. I'm all about those team games with the tactical stuff... never bothered with the rush maps much, or any of that stuff... I was pure Conquest. I remember playing the original, 1942, back when it came out some 25 years ago, and the original Battlefield Vietnam. Actually helped run a clan, BoB, in BF... we ran solid 32 man teams in matches for BF3 and 4, dedicated squads... even had practices (which is fancy talk for playing with teammates against teammates and trying shit out). I was a tank monster:) Miss the BF3 SOFLAM seat in the tank... with a three man crew, tanks were unbeatable. Sort of fell off, though... 2k sort of took its spot.

I've been considering buying the full game, is it worth it in your opinion?

From what I've seen so far no, it isn't. You get the Fortnite mode for free, so just play that.

But I don't play any single player, and haven't gotten to try co-op yet. @JimboBBN only likes to play that one single mode, the PubG/Fortnite mode.

If you played MW2 when it came out, it’s basically the same thing. What I do like about it is that it’s fast paced and can level up weapons that’d take weeks in Warzone. They need to come out with a new zombie add on.

haven’t played special ops or campaign yet though.

What's spec ops? I never cared for the zombie mode.

Yeah, I suspect MW is not a game for me. Like, I hate the idea of "leveling up" weapons. An M4A1 is an M4A1. Adding a tac light or foregrip, fine, but it shouldn't turn into a whole different weapon if it is still a .556 round, you know? It's like The Division. I hated that game so much that I bought it and stopped playing within twenty minutes, and never picked it up again.

I am, at heart, a very literal gamer, and in a game with a realistic setting, I want my game to be sort of realistic. I'm fine with that sort of thing in Borderlands or whatever, but in a real-life game... eh.

But I spent 50 damn bucks on it, so I'll keep giving it a go. I only buy one game a year, so I sure as hell am going to try it for a while.

This one doesn't have a zombie mode, which I do miss.

Did you ever play the original MW2? Spec Ops were missions you could do with 1 - 4 players. Basically separate, specialty missions set aside from the campaign. They're a ton of fun.

Ya know, I’ve never been a huge fan of thermal. Just personal preference I guess. A few of my teammates love to use it, but I think it throws me off. I always aim for someone’s head, no matter the distance. And thermal is a tad tougher to find their face with. Just my opinion. I love sniping, though.

I was never a thermal guy either, until Warzone. Now it's so much easier to spot people. I run with thermal on my primary (M13) and my sniper.

For computer gamers, the excellent game Shogun Total War 2 is free to download on Mac and PC for the next few days. I played the original forever, and then worked a bunch with MTW and Rome Total War and a bunch of the other ones... GREAT ****ing games.

Here is a little video, to get a feel for it.

Not online. I played through GTA. Wife bought me RDR2 for Christmas. I’ll probably never have the time to get through it.

Sports games used to be my go-to. NBA 2k gradually lost its luster for me, so I haven’t played that in a couple years. I preferred NCAA Football over Madden and switched to Madden after NCAA died, but never got fully into it.

I’m crossing my fingers that NCAA games will be back in a couple years now that it seems like the NCAA is coming around on players getting paid.

We play 2k all the time. But I’ve never played an actual game. I play the mode where you create a player and use him to play 3v3 and 5v5 with friends.

We play Rory McIlroy golf too

I hate Fortnite, because my boys (7 and 10) love it. It’s all they want to play. I might delete it.

I need non-first person shooter options for them. One loves sports games, so I’m fine there. Need something for the other.

My 8 year old is obsessed with fortnite. He rage quit Sunday so I took the sticks and played my first 2 solo matches on his PlayStation, won the 2nd match and have been acting like the greatest fortnite player that has ever lived since. He's so pissed at me.

Do they still make Sim City? Newest version? I’m seeing something called Cities: Skylines. Looks legit.

Full disclosure: I’m also looking for something I can play. But, I don’t see Oregon Trail anywhere.

I probably won't play it much. It got stale last time I played it too. I think I'm just over battle royales. I'm ready for the next Halo to come out. I miss arena shooters and the competitiveness of a 4v4 match.

Have the Master Chief collection that I'll play every now and then. Halo 3 has always been my favorite of those. I kinda lost track after that one. Halo ODST and Halo 4 weren't awful, but different enough to where I lost interest. Maybe best I go through and beat 1 through 4 again before the next one comes out.
