When the coronav has you on lockdown...and the xbox live servers go down.
So got Doom Eternal and... It's kinda meh so far. Insanely difficult, maybe I just need to play it some more but the way too early review is it's disappointing.
Dang, I was actually thinking about getting it.
I'd hold off and wait for a price drop.
My relationship with DOOM goes all the way back to the beginning of their franchise. I was really looking forward to this game.
It's starts off rough but once you get the super shotgun it becomes a lot more enjoyable. The platforming can get annoying but it's definitely better than I initially thought.
Buddy of mine is a streamer, mostly FPS. He made a bet with the devs that he couldnt get through the game on nightmare difficulty in 24 hours, he managed to do it in 22. Game is nuts graphics wise.
I think I will wait for the price drop, but I can't imagine not playing a DOOM game.
**** that noise. The boss fights are hard enough on hurt me plenty, could not imagine playing on nightmare.
It was crazy hard.
I've rage quit like 5 times in 2 days.
How about that ******ED ****ing backwards jump animation, where you try to block someone and instead your guy goes jumping backwards swiping and ending up ten feet away from where you started? I’ve literally never had that animation be beneficial in any way.
“I have no idea why it made me jump that way” is something I’ll say a few times a night.
How about when a 6’3 point guards drives at you like you don’t exist and you time the block perfect with rim protector and intimidator and you get posterized?
@tw3301 have you tried Doom: Eternal yet? I heard there was no team slayer/deathmatch in multiplayer. That's disappointing if true. I'm sure the campaign is ridiculously good though.
Read up about 3-5 posts. It's good once you get the hang of it, plays quite a bit differently than Doom 2016. The multiplayer is 1 vs 2, the Doom guy vs 2 player controlled demons and a bunch of AI demons. Played it once as the Slayer and got annihilated. No other multiplayer at this time.
First one was so fun (frustrating) on nightmare difficulty. I'm not paying full price for the campaign only tho. If they add good multiplayer I'll buy for sure. The 2v1 vs A.I doesn't sound appealing.
It's entirely possible that I just suck at this game but it was a slaughter when I tried the multiplayer and not a lot of fun. The marauder is insanely powerful and needs to be nerfed IMO.
I buy basically a game a year, and it took me (with my schedule) a year to finish RDR2. I think I'm going to go ahead and get DOOM.
According to the devs they will be, at least in nightmare mode.
RD2 was worth the grind though, at least for me. That game has such a great story that you really get bought in.
truth be told, I still haven't finished it.
It got hard to get back into after a hiatus.
Lul. Did you get to the Cuba ( basically ) part yet?
I got murdered and had to play as a different guy.
*never played RDR1
Totally lost me. And you should, its a really good game.
I have so many games for Xbox one from the shop, that I've never installed, just don't have the time.
DOOM is one of my all time favorites and would find the time. It goes a long ways back for me.
He is playing as John Marston because Arthur died. The epilogue is a ****ing GRIND and hard to get through all the chores.
Any of you game fans watch any eSports?
OK, let me finish that then, maybe the price drop will happen between now and then.
Once you get off the farm it gets better.
yeah the end is a slog and a half. OK so he did the Cuba part. The horse ride back by Arthur and they play this song, freaking amazing part of the game. Hard to explain to someone who hasnt played it though.
ehh, you guys are impossible. "slog", "grind" or DOOM tonight.
Im going with DOOM
Same either way. See above, good buddy of mine did a DOOM run on the new one, full nightmare mode, 22+ hours.
If my math is correct, that's 22 weeks for me. 22 weeks (4.33 weeks in a month), that's right at 5 months. Game is 60 dollars, so less than 10 dollars a month
*note, I'm sure I'm not as good as him, but It sounds like a save buy. I do love the DOOM franchise and don't mind supporting them.
Rocket League (it's more exciting to watch than some real sports)
Halo (my first love and got me into gaming)
COD (just to see how former Halo pros do)
CSGO (idk why as I've never played it but it's intense)
What about you?
Also, I start off every game in the hardest mode. I just have to get better. I know he controls so there's no learning curve on that front.
Let me know how that works out for you on Doom Eternal.
I'll probably curse a lot, but the mods seem nice.
I'm currently trying to figure out how to d/l a game from a remote computer so the game will be waiting for me. I think the homefront is set up perfect and fingers crossed.
*says it d/ling
It's the only way to do it. Challenging is more fun to me. Plus I tend to hunt achievements, and if you beat games on the hardest difficulty you usually automatically get the achievements for beating it on easier difficulties. I avoid having to have multiple play throughs. Then I'll go back and play it on the easy difficulty to clean up other achievements.
