Anyone hear anything about this upcoming season?

I'm excited with Mike Boynton since he seems to be headed in a very positive direction from our post Eddie Sutton coaches.

Anyone have any real insight as to how our team should fare? It's been hard to watch CBB when your coaches have killed all hope so needless to say, I'm out of every loop but our sunshine pumper posts.

The Beakers' Big XII preseason poll has you in tenth place.

Think KU is still upset about going 0-2 in Big XII play against you last year.

Truth is I don't care how horrible OSU is you don't want to play in Gallagher-Iba.

Thinking Oklahoma St still gets 6 wins in conference so it all depends on OOC and who you play.

GIA used to be tied with Fog as the hardest place to play in the Big XII. Mike Boynton has bought into this program so I assume there will be butts in seats again now that we have a coach that fully embraces the orange.

I know we are set back a bit but from what I've heard, the 19-20 season should really be solid.

I'm excited to see if Oklahoma State regain it's place at the top of the Big XII!!!!

Nothing against KU but KState, ISU and OSU have the rowdiest arenas.

Hey, OP, since you're new here and I don't know you, tell me a little about your tag line "Helicopter Rides given *15*" ??

...& how do I edit my tag line?

I would say the ceiling for OSU is an 8/9 seed in the NCAAT and the floor is a CBI bid. The Big XII is a beast, very tough for a rebuilding program to get traction in conference. ISU finished 10th last season and were still a tough out, not unthinkable OSU finishes 10th with a winning record.

Yeah I don't know about that. The places you mentioned sell out 0-4 games a year so I guess you are suggesting their biggest games are the best. If there's an opponent that KU fans are worried about or feel threatened by, Phog is easily the rowdiest in the Big 12 and arguably the country. When was the last time GIA was full and rowdy? KSU hasn't been the same since Frank Martin left, still a tough place and loud but not what it was 2008-2013. Hilton is great and has the best argument imo.

I think Boynton looks like a really good coach going forward but they lost most of their good players from last year's team, right? He might need some time but looks like a great hire for the Pokes.

Don't be so insecure

It is little brother syndrome. Put a big name opponent at K State and their fans get crazy.
In both football and basketball. Plus they have their stadium and arena situated to make it as hostile as possible.

I’d say it will be close to Frank level (consistent) attendance and noise this year. Final four bound.

Bruce just needed a breakthrough and got it.

As tough as football is, b-ball very high expectations.

I'm not being insecure. It's just stupid or trolling to suggest KU has (at best) the 4th rowdiest or whatever you want to say crowd in the Big 12. KSU has wide aisles and seats 4,000 less people. Their fans get crazy 2-3 times a year no doubt but I still don't think its close to the phog when we have a big name opponent. The phog is most basketball announcers top 2-3 craziest/loudest in the nation but you think there are three better in the Big 12 and one only of them (ISU) even sells out more than a couple games a year.

So KU fans do not expect to win...

You have to understand human psychology. When you win all the time there is not the same emotion as if you win every once in awhile.

There are some great cbb venues and atmospheres in the Big 12, I just think KU is at the top in both by a solid margin.
