So, WCC has 3 good team this year. Gonzaga should be a 1 seed. Saint Mary's might be a 5-6 seed. And San Francisco should be a 9 or 10 seed.
I think BYU could have been a tournament team if Baxter/Harward didn't have season-ending injuries. They started out 6-0, including wins over San Diego State and Oregon. Can't imagine they make the tournament with the way they've closed out the season.
The team people don't talk about a lot is Santa Clara. They had a really solid season. #66 on KenPom, #67 on the NET. The crazy thing is, Josip Vrankic, a 1st Team All WCC Peformer, missed 8 games in November/December due to mono. They went 4-4 during that stretch, including three Quad 3 losses. Those were their only Quad 3 losses on the season.
I'm not saying they go 8-0 with him in the lineup, but Santa Clara would have been at least a bubble team had Vrankic not missed any games, IMO. Had double-digit wins over TCU, Stanford, and Nevada. Beat Saint Mary's and BYU. Finished 3rd in the WCC. With Vrankic in the lineup, Santa Clara didn't lose to a single sub-30 team.
