MSU feels pretty good about Tre Holloman. We’re going to have a ton of PG’s next year but we’ve heard we’re imterested in running multiple guard lineups and think a lot of these guys can play together. Holloman has long arms, is a great passer and is shifty at getting to the rim. Has room to improve his jumper and athleticism.

Holloman would be a great pickup

Illinois have an interesting roster. Excellent three man rotation in the backcourt. Kofi is a preseason All American. The 3/4 spots though look NIT caliber.

Top 10 worthy. Not sure they have enough to win it all though.

Fair, TBH. I think we’ll play 4 small with Kofi and have Payne as his backup, and we’ll have a high ceiling and (not that) low floor because of it.

Idk about that.
That’s exactly how it works. Surprised TRank hasn’t updated his model to include a correction factor for Purdue being overrated and Illinois being underrated. He obviously doesn’t have anything in his model to account for @NC_Trojan10’s trolling falsehoods into fact either.
I’ll send him a strongly-worded message.

The 4 certainly isn’t ideal, but there are several different role players that each add something different that are good enough. The 3 is dependent on Hutcherson. If he’s as good as the staff is saying, the position is solid. If not, you’re probably right.

I think Hunter is maxed out more than most freshman. He is a better passer for sure and Kofi is better at everything else

Dickinson had a better freshman year than Kofi did. Kofi improved quite a bit from freshman to sophomore year. Why can’t Dickinson?

Now that it is the next day after the official Kofi announcement, logged in again on FD Sportsbook to check the futures odds. Odds haven’t changed. Michigan and Purdue are still #2 and #5, respectively, while Illinois is tied at #16 with three other teams. Barring some freak injuries during the offseason, the moron 🥔 will clearly be wrong as expected.

Anybody want to brave a try of the big ten rankings now that rosters are mostly set?

If they’re on the same line they’re pretty interchangeable to me.

UM/Purdue
Illinois/OSU
Maryland
IU/MSU/Rutgers
Wisconsin
Iowa
Nebraska
Penn state/Minnesota/Northwestern

My first team all conference at this point it

Dickinson
Cockburn
Liddell
TJD
Williams

That’s an all big man team but I don’t know who I’d take off. Maybe replace Williams with Ivey?

Fun fact: Mike Woodson has the least wins in NCAA history.
Fun fact....Underwood has 8 years on Woodson---Yet only has 2 more NCAAT wins. With no losses as a 1 seed, in the 2nd round either.. 🤣

Kofi >>>> TJD

TJD went 9-31 in there 2 matchups last year.

He is the definition of an inefficient volume scorer when he plays elite talent.

But hey he’ll look great when you guys matchup against Penn St.
Never implied TJD was better----But to say the gap is huge is the fukin stupid part. Keep up new guy.

The gap is large, would be less so if he could stretch his jumper out to the 3.

But right now he’s a 5 and that doesn’t bode well when you are matching up with a guy who has 3 inches and 45 pounds on you.

He struggled first game: 11 points/8 rebounds. 3-13. Second game, he was solid: 19 points/14 rebounds. In two games, he averaged 15/11...Kofi went for 15/12.

I don't see the huge gap??

TJD needs to develop a 10-15 footer---that is it. He doesn't need 3 point range. Needs to trust his right hand more. If he develops either, he'll be a lotto pick. The gap isn't huge. The gap is a jumper. Thats it.

Woodson will end his career with 0 losses as a 1-seed.

And no, he isn’t going to win a title.
Possible...

I doubt he wins a title, either. But I do think he stabilizes the ship. I also think Indiana will be much better than what most feel. What does that translate too? I dunno. But I think his offensive mind is better suited for the talent he has. Miller reigned it in waaaaay to much. He had the dudes to speed the game up---whch is exactly what he should have done. Time will only tell.

So Kofi averaged more points, on less shots.

And more rebounds, with less turnovers.

There is a substantial gap.

In their 3 H2H games:

TJD-42pts-34 rebounds
Kofi-46pts-30 rebounds

so...

Last years stats:

TJD-19.1pts-9 rebound
Kofi-17.7-9.5 rebounds

I'm trying to find this large gap you speak of.

Your boy is an inefficient volume scorer.

He isn’t a 5 defensively, and he doesn’t have the shot to space the floor from the 4.

Kofi is 100% better than him. I’d take Dickinson and probably Liddell over him if I was building a team.
