I don't think Izzo berates guys into staying. He has just gotten a bit more crafty over the years on what he needs to do.

Like telling borderline first round draft pick Adreian Payne that his dead grandma would really have wanted him to stay to get his degree (you can still come back and finish up once you have millions from the NBA).

Or in Bridges case I think he had Tum Tum dropping hints in his ear over the course of the year. It worked.

One that didn't work was when Deyonta Davis was debating on a pro career to help his (by all accounts) very poor family. Izzo was quoted in the media saying how Deyonta should stay because that will help him with his 'second' NBA contract. (Please have your family live another year in dire need so you can help me win a title). Lol fvckin dirtball
I’m just talkin shit with a some truth😉 . Trying to take the spotlight from IU and PU fans

Lol the young Boiler generation thought their Boiler Up song was good.
That was a few people that were dumb enough to film it. Not the numbers you suggest about that painful IU song.

They both suck. Purdue's isn't embraced tho.

You aren’t part of the younger Boiler generation. Some of my best friends (and wife) are. They played that song often lol.

30 and under (ie. In school or have been in school since that song came out).
People who were seniors when those songs came out are probably 33 - 34 (if they went to school right out of high school). I think both came out around 2010-2011. I was a freshman at IU then, and yes, people were embarrassingly amped about it at the time.

Our Bucky video came out then too. I was out of school a few years by then but it was pretty cool at the time. Hasn’t aged well but I still find it comical.

Football team was pretty good at the time. I think we dropped 83 on IU somewhere in there.

Watching all of these videos just makes me resent black people.

The fact that someone thought that they needed to make, wrote the song, made the beat, shot the video, edited it all together, probably watched it 100x, and then still thought it was good enough for public consumption boggles my mind.
Envisioning your reaction if one word was changed.

I'm not understanding what you're saying. Help?

If you're saying Indiana to Illinois, then you can envision me cringing just like before. The songs are bad. The kid who sang Kofi Come Back was intentionally being cringey, and I still hate it.

Not sure if serious

You young fvcks. I'm no Gillanois or OG Gil but I got a good 7 years on you.

Cockburn, Curbelo, Frazier, Grandison, and Williams were all contributors on a 1 seed.

Torvik has us projected above Michigan, without even factoring in guy who will be starting.
Using Torvik as a predictor of success isn’t exactly fool proof.

Before the 2019-20 season began, they had Purdue as high as 2. That team finished 1 game over .500.

If Illinois wasn’t a 1 seed the year before maybe I’d be more worried. We return Curbelo, Grandison, Williams, Frazier, and Cockburn from our 8 man rotation last year.

Illinois might not get ranked by the national guys as a top 5 team preseason, but midway thru the season we will be there.

You're right. Last season, T-Rank underranked Illinois. We're probably 2 or 1, and Purdue is actually probably 20+ since T-Rank historically overranks Purdue. Thanks for the correction.
