Preseason odds are so bad. Like, even if Purdue was a one seed +250 would be about fair to pick a 1 seed to the final four. So much can happen between now and then to give them a lower seed.
And not just purdue, pretty much any team outside of Gonzaga would be a bad bet at that right now.
Exactly. I couldn’t believe just how bad they were though. Even +450 would be egregious IMO. I’ve never been a big futures guy but damn NCAAB seems to be especially bad before the season.

Futures bets always fck you when betting so far in advance on teams that are clearly expected to be good. The dislocations are on surprise teams (aka bet on Bama last year months in advance). However, even if you take advantage of a dislocation, it only pays out if the team actually wins obviously. Right now on FD:

All these levels suck in general when thinking about how hard it actually is to win the ‘ship in a one and done tourney.
Edit: In the NE, the only state where sports bets are available is NJ (NY and CT legal finally, but nothing is up and running yet). I was in Jersey City this pst weekend for a wedding and took the opportunity to place a ridiculous number of bets on NBA finals, British Open, NCAAB (despite the sht levels), and NCAAF. Long story short, this is how bad Purdue is in football. I got Purdue B1G championship at +10,000, despite the fact that the levels are optimistic in general for every team. Wasted $100 on it.

Yeah those numbers are just bananas to me. Granted the only future bets I do are in PGA basically but I just can’t imagine letting a sportsbook hold my money all year long for a 7x payout if my bet hits lol
I get it in the NBA or MLB where there are a handful of teams with an obvious advantage and they play a best of whatever series. Just crazy to me with the unknowns of college b-ball and a single elimination tournament. God what horrible odds.
See my edit above. I got +10,000 on Purdue for football conference championship, but that level still sucks. The odds that Aidan or Plummer turns into Brees, the o-line tranforms into M Light and crew, and the d-line (fine Karlaftis is good) becomes Colvin, K Short, S Phillips type guys is a lot lot worse than 100:1.
