Yes I did, his program is very up and down to follow. Right now he is at a peak though. His recruiting and defensive philosophy were terrible for a few years.

Didn’t like him much in 2017 either and earlier this past season. If Houston makes those FT’s at games end, many would hate him now.

After the Syracuse loss though it was only fire, fire, fire. Most depressing B1G championship ever in 2016. Just knowing he was going to come back for another year.

Every forum I've ever read has fans that criticize their coach at some point.
The lowest point for me was the the year we lost to NJIT and Eastern Michigan, but Beilein has done more than enough to make up for that down year.

No flame, but what did Robinson develop while at UM? Most of his stats / advanced stats actually went down, year by year. It seems like his insanely hot shooting in Summer League (63% from 3) is why he got that 2-way contract
He was a starter right when he got there as well. He was just a kid that was severely missed in the circuit.
Duncan was probably the worst defender in the B1G his first year at Michigan and was actually decent by his senior season.

Nobody wanted him fired in 2015. Yes, he had two awful non con losses and then his starting backcourt was sidelined for the final 2/3 of conference season, but I didnt view it as a poorly coached season despite the record. This was also coming off losing three guys early to the NBA the previous year. Everyone felt a mulligan was appropriate given the various attrition.
Yes, many were exhausted midway through 2017 as fans felt Beilein could not cash in on his success in 2013 & 2014. Many felt his archaic recruiting strategy was producing results less than an average coach could attain at Michigan. Then Derrick Walton became a first team All American caliber player the second half of 2017, the recruiting took an uptick a few months later and then the 2018 season began which resulted in a final two showing.
Michigan is now probably in its best shape it has ever been under Beilein.

Yes, there are Michigan fans who rip Beilein. There are MSU fans who rip Izzo, a HOF coach with a record to die for, after losses, and there are OSU fans who rip Urban with a 73-8 record in Columbus. Some people are nuts.
I know no Michigan fan—not a single one—who would have hated Beilein if Houston had made its free throws. Not after back-to-back BT tournament wins.
You can go back to every Michigan board the last 5 years and most Michigan fans go back and forth between he’s great to he sucks. No way to prove the Houston comment as UM actually won but based on history, I stand by my belief that most would have turned on him.
@IU_Btown_Chicago can you fill us in on how you know he was a starter right when he got to Michigan? I think the only certainty we have about when he first got to Michigan was that he was an elite shooter. Hard to know much else IMO.
And even when you lose (not getting Simpson) you can pretend you never wanted him.
I agree to an extent. After he got burned by the '13 class, Painter has been a lot better about not offering guys so early. But i think the reality is that - especially with in-state kids - Purdue needs a "hook" in recruitments beyond on-court success.

Left OSU campus about 30 minutes ago and things are getting a bit exciting with b-ball fans. Recruit Alonzo Gaffney is definitely here and people are saying he will also meet DJ Carton tomorrow as part of Carton’s visit. A few weeks ago I thought OSU was quite a long shot for Carton, but looks like they may have a legit shot. I’m cautiously optimistic. lol

Yeah, just the nature of the beast. I will admit I'm a little concerned with the level of recruits Archie has already gotten in on. But Painter has proven he can win big (in the regular season) with guys in the 75-150 range who play above their profile in college.
I think BCS is already a top-10 drama of all-time and has consistently gotten better each season. Really looking forward to season 4 starting up.
I really like Fargo. Season 3 was probably my least favorite but still good stuff. The Coen's are involved, weird has to be expected.
Saul was so good and in still on a B.B. high so I might jump right in
It's well worth it. Gilligan (not the Rivals poster) does such a tremendous job of bringing you back to the aesthetic of the Breaking Bad universe while telling a completely separate story. There's plenty of BB characters and references to make it familiar without dominating the narrative.
