Typically those go hand in hand though. What kind of school you are is based on the fanbase mindset and support, not team success.

Most would agree MSU basketball has been better than MSU football over the last couple of decades, but the fans( and Izzo) still maintain a football-first mentality.
Some even think the current state of the program isn’t worth betting on
Both Sparty and Blue are football schools
Sparty?
Yeah their recruiting has tanked the last couple years.
The infrastructure and brand name is there. You have to assume a recruiting fall off given the coaching transition. Sparty has been in transition for a couple years.
Yeah and it will take a bit to restock the cupboards. I’m going to enjoy the free wins.
The coaching hire will be huge. He has to keep the standard up.
The good news though, I don't see Franklin hanging around. He is learning he is second fiddle to OSU.
Second fiddle at best. I see him as equal to Harbaugh, but I think Harbaugh has a higher ceiling(starting question that though).
Dantonio>Franklin for most of his tenure too.

Does Jacobson have any interest in leaving? I feel like he'd be an excellent coach in the B1G.Watching these UNI ass bags, we would ****ing kill them. We could have Garza run point the whole game and beat them by 30.

Don't get me started on that shithole. Even when we'd win, I'd be angry that I went to a game there and it was like 20 minutes from my office back in my Chicago days. It’s better now but the Northwestern’s old court triggered me. It was like someone took a purple highlighter that had started to fade to fill the inside of the arc.

Speaking of Tucker, you ever go to CU games? I've been to one football game and two bball games. The football games literally do not have a tailgating scene, but I went against ASU a couple years back and had a good time. Got sauced, gawked at the absurd number of smoking cali blonds, on a 65 degree night with a full moon over the flatirons...so it wasn't bad. Ralphie running across the field was pretty cool too.I'd be pleasantly surprised if we were bowl eligible next season.
I think Tucker has done a decent job assembling his coaching staff. I think the younger, more enthusiastic coaches should be able to recruit better than the last set of bums did. All of Dantonio's assistants were guys who did not warrant their positions or salaries, but he would never fire any of them. Now we can finally move forward and evolve a bit. Or at least that's the hope
If he could get some talent, I think he'd be really good.I think the only real interst was in Minnesota awhile back. He does get the best out of his kids.

Bilas doesn't watch the big ten much I take it.

Even though I saw them beat #5 Xavier a couple years back, and just watched their ranked team beat Stanford, those bball games are pathetic compared to B1G action.
looks like MSU may piss this start down their legs.
I honestly think Kirk is hitting his groove. The facilities are in place and recruiting is solid.
It's all these fvckers going pro that are keeping us from dominating the West.
Yea, that’s your problem.
We run this shit chicken hawk.
It goes in cycles. It's our turn brat boy.
