Dusty May is mistaken if he thinks going on the Dakich show is a way into the hearts of IU and IU fans.
The right hire is a crap shoot. Ohio State would have hired Archie Miller if IU had not, then hired Holtmann, now Diebler (who might still work out)

The last I checked, he was the head coach at Michigan. He has already told IU, "Thank you, but no thanks."

In his current position, he can achieve great success without returning home and dealing with the challenges of being the head coach of IU basketball. Typically, that role does not end well.
Probably second behind Michigan State in over achievement in the B1G this season with team NIL that matches individual conference players.
Their AD must have already gotten confirmation of a replacement wanting the job and a tentative deal is in place.
It definitely is but if your program basically needs a rebuild why hire a first year head coach from a staff that got fired? It was an extremely lazy hire. The school has tons of money and they didn’t even attempt to lure anyone away from somewhere else
I’m not saying OSU should be some powerhouse basketball school overnight, but there is absolutely no reason they shouldn’t be at least in the top 4-6 in the B1G and in the tournament nearly every year

The restaurants depending on the 6K or so IU fans there today? Place felt empty. IU has unbelievably made themselves irrelevant. Given the Knight era that may be a singularly bad result. Current coaching search is confirming IU is kryptonite. I’m cool with it. 😎
