Would you take issue with someone saying that they'd take a Junior Moe Wagner over Aaron Henry?

Moe’s jump was pretty big. If Franz takes that big of jump I’d take him over Henry but that probably won’t happen. I do see Henry taking a jump, especially in efficiency.

Again, offensively Franz is the better player Henry is just a great defender. For MSU I’d rather have Henry but there are situations where I definitely think Wagner is more valuable.

Anyways, both front courts should be good 3-5 (since that's what started the discussion).

Since our 5 position would have more questions I'd had to give the edge to MSU.

Give me your teams candidates for breakout star.

I’ll go Rocket Watts. He was super inefficient because of his injury to start the season. After he came back and had a few games under his belt, dude was electric. Defensively was surprisingly very good for a Freshman. He can create his own shot better than anyone at MSU in recent memory. He’s still a streaky shooter but his stroke is pure, and he was an elite shooter in high school. His efficiency stats are a bit skewed because he was so awful to start the year when he was playing with a hurt Achilles.

In his last 4 games of the season he had 21 points, 13 points, 18 points, and 19 points.

I’ll go Eric Hunter. He showed flashes this year but needs to get more consistent on a game-to-game basis.

With freshmen bigs and forwards, I'll believe it when I see it. You thought Wagner was going to be an all-star, and there are multiple guys like him all across the NCAA. He played well at the end of the season, but it's hard for freshman to carry teams in the Big Ten. Kahlil Whitney was a top 10 guy, and he barely could stay on the court. Possibility that the freshman aren't going to get a full off-season on top of that, and I'm skeptical.

I'll take the veteran teams with proven coaches right now.

For Illinois, Alan Griffin. Top 10 offensive efficiency in the nation with a pure stroke, and you could see his game developing. We had quite a few NBA scouts talking about him as a 3 and D guy if he continues on his trajectory.

Yeah, I’d go him or Trevion. No reason he can’t average a double-double in his last 2 seasons. Another guy that needs to get more consistent. Shows flashes of brilliance at times though. & I know he’s a great passer for a big but I wish he’d be a little more selfish at times.

Looks.....see Purdue with more AP votes than IU after a 16-15 season in which neither team made the NCAA tournament (#fact)......

I'll go Jerome Hunter for IU. He shot 42% from three the last 14 games showing flashes of why he was rated so high coming out of high school. Think next year is gonna be a big one for him.

That is rough and certainly wouldn't be ideal, but Holtmann will still have them in a decent spot.

Carton story just stinks. I wanted him to IU bad, it sucks the way that has played out. I hope he is able to get himself healthy and be able to play basketball somewhere.

Didn’t OSU have a pretty big exodus a few years back when Matt/ was there? Like almost losing an entire class to transfer?

Huh. Go dig around to see if I thought Franz was going to be an "all star" (lol, who uses that word in college hoops vernacular). He played about how I expected in 2020 and I fully expect him to blowup next year with ten more pounds of muscle.

Here would be my approximates for front court minutes at Michigan with somewhat positionless ball.....Franz/Livers/Todd - 28 each, Johns - 20, Dickinson - 16. So 1/3 by the frosh....but hey Kahlil Whitney.

5/6 seed if Michigan grabs Josh Christopher, eh. He is certainly no Trent Frazier....

Wagner averaged 13 points and 6 rebounds as a freshmen in the best conference in the country. He's really the example you pick of not being good as a freshman?

Oh position-less ball! Wow! Every coach in America - "We don't have a 1-5. We play position-less". Even fvcking Cuonzo Martin's scrub ass was saying that to recruits. You bought that? EmbarrassingRollLaugh

Remember when Michigan was going to be really good this past year because they had Teske, Jeff Jackson Simpson, and Livers, and they finished 9th?

Still a lot of talk about Carton to Iowa. I imagine OSU is going to report for tampering. Carton backed off after word started getting out earlier.

Yup, wouldn't want to have to rely on freshman too much. Especially with how old the league could be next year.

We finished 16th in kenpom with livers missing 1/3rd of the season and wager missing some games and getting off to a rough start because of a broken wrist. Last year went about as well as um fans could have hoped.

You mean 2/3 of the season Livers, right?

Top 15ish in Kenpom/Torvik. Would have been a 5-6 seed this year. Probably a four seed if healthy all year......but hey, 9th place!

Going into the season most of us had Michigan in the bottom end of the top 25 and they finished in the top 15-20 in most metrics. I'm not sure where you're going with these things.
