He's not a scrub, though...So he's exempt.Winking

If, more like when, we get Mors, that’ll give us 3 top 150 guys for 2021 already. Nice follow up to the 2020 class. Could take up to two more in 2021 or push one or two back to 2022.

Gard recruits well. Wisky always has. Not at a UK, Duke, UNC level....Who does, though. But for the location, you guys seemingly always bring im good classes. System classes.

‘18 and ‘19 were shaky due to douchebags and just shitty luck. Back on track in ‘20/‘21.

We’ll never recruit like UK/Duke but that’s not expected. Get top 150 types and we’ll be just fine.

That didn’t take long. This was the one that was expected.

Gil is wreaking havoc in the top 150 thread
I thought it was an interesting thread until he started shitting on it.

The amazing thing is he doesn’t understand that if Iowa truly has great players worthy of top 150 status, it must mean Fran is a terrible coach.

I found this twitter post last night to be interesting considering how many b1g teams have put a ton of early effort into these type of recruits only for them to be swayed away late by duke and uk(I assume you find similar stuff about uk).

I think Weez is a legit top 150 talent. Brow, however, is weak sauce.

how so as he has guided Iowa to 4 NCAAT and 3 NIT's in 9 seasons, and in the last 4 classes he has signed these
2015 4* top 50 by ESPN top 100 by Rivals now in the NBA
4* Jordan by ESPN possible RS This season
2016 4* top 100 C Garza by ESPN 4* by Rivals
2017 4* Connor top 100 by ESPN 4* by Rival now a RSSO
2018 Wieskamp top 100 4* by ESPN and Rivals
2019 4* Patrick top 100 4* by ESPN and Rivals
4* Toussaint by ESPN

these players are just getting started, its hard to call Fran a terrible coach before they get to their JR year or even step foot on the floor now is it,

from the 2012-13 season thru the 16-17 season with just 2 4* players by Rivals his team recorded the 3rd best win total in Iowa's history by 4 year starters, his team had a stretch of 5 straight .500 records in BT play was matched only by Izzo of MSU
6 straight post season appearnces. terrible coach only in your world,

now we will see how he does with a potential starting lineup of 5 4* players and fully healthey with nobody needing to play out of position
ie: 7'0 Nunge at the 3
6'7 Dailey at the 1
6'8 Pemsl at the 5

Toussaint is a quicker and more athletic PG than Jordan
defensively Fran hired a defensive assistant coach who has been a HC at other schools. combine Fran's offense with this assistant coaches defensive mindset and the team will improve from 247th in adjusted defense to 111th in adjusted defense to ? in the 19-20 adj defense.

No one besides you brags about NIT appearances.

when it come to a team that is supposed to be staying home with no post season play it does, to even go to the NIT a team needs to have a winning record and in Fran's 2nd season Iowa had a winning record and a trip to the NIT after taking over a forest fire.

Pretty wild that Devonte Green has gone from dude that got suspended, was widely hated by the fanbase, and expected to transfer...to a captain.

Voted on by the players...I think it goes to show that players think much different about each other than fans. By all accounts Green has worked his tail off this summer.

Remember a member of the Indiana fan base started false rumors about Green, Langford and Phinisee that spread like wildfire where "media" (using that loosely) such as Dakich had to discuss it.

Good for him to get voted on by the players. Just based on watching him and seeing that decision-making -- in addition to the suspension -- it's pretty surprising to me, but he is obviously doing something right.

Regarding the rumor...you referring to that girlfriend thing?

Yeah the whole Langford sleeping with Phinisee's girl and Green standing up for Phinisee and punching Romeo.

Literally none of that happened. (Romeo was on campus for multiple weeks this summer sleeping on Phinisee's couch) Green just failed a drug test. Morgan went into some detail regarding it on a podcast earlier this summer. Talking about how Green knew he would fail and fessed up right away to Archie. He took it on the chest a grew from it.

Just seems like Green has gone from a perfect example of Crean’s culture and lack of discipline hurting Archie, and now he’s a captain.

Again, if he turned it around and gained the respect of teammates, good for him.

I hear you. It has been a pain watching him. With the plan to have him playing strictly off the ball and zero PG time I think I will be happier with this play this year.

Obviously he’s not nearly as good, but the Carsen role makes more sense for him. Don’t make him be a decision maker. I think it makes sense — whether he can contain himself in that role remains to be seen.

I’ve just thought for a while that it’s scary to rely on him in a starting role. But good to hear he owned his mistakes and has worked hard.

tell you what try having a 9 lb cyst removed from your stomach 6 weeks before the season start then use the season to recover the end up 2nd on the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg grabbing 144 rebounds with 17 blocks.

remember a newborn baby ussualy weighs 6 lbs not only did the cyst weigh more but was bigger. but it seems like he was supposed to do more than JR Cook who led the team in scoring and rebounding and is now in the NBA.

talk about unreal expectation for a SO recovering from major stomach surgery. as a FR Garza was 3rd on the team inscoring, 2nd in rebounding @6.4 rpg 1st in blocks with 32,

weak sauce not even close.

Who do you think will end up as IU’s top 3 scorers this season?
Green, Phinisee, TJD?

I had forgotten about Smith. Think he makes a jump this year? Potential is definitely there
I’m skeptical on his offensive production. He looked lost a bit last year or just lacked confidence. I like defense more than his offense.

Yeah, that makes sense. I think that’s going to be IU’s path to success this year. Make games ugly and keep them low scoring with their D.
