He hasn’t beaten Brunk 1on1 all offseason.

I think Brunk will do just fine at IU. He has completely reshaped his body. Davis is still not all that motivated and slow. Davis will be a good back up 5

I am looking forward to the Haarms/Brunk matchup.

He hasn't played one minute of college basketball yet. He's been out for a year with injury. He's not starting.
What does that have to do with anything? How many games had RP played of college basketball at this time last year? Did he start game 1? Hunter is better than Durham, and Durham is the backup PG. Not sure how well playing a 3 guard lineup is going to go considering we have 4 guards on the entire roster and one of them is a freshman.

I mean, it does matter. I'm not sold on a player who hasn't played a minute of college basketball and has been out for a year with an injury/condition, coming in and being a starter at the beginning of the season. I don't think that's very likely or logical. But I get tons of people are uber excited for Hunter to be back in the fold. Just because he can shoot the ball doesn't mean he's ready to be a starter. Again, it's highly unlikely he's the starter any time prior to December (at the earliest).

We never made him a priority. Dickinson is another story.

Archie and Ostrom went and saw Garcia again last night for the third time this fall.

We are being told Marquette/Indiana are well positioned with Memphis making a push. He is obviously on a Minnesota official visit, I am guessing just a courtesy :) @Deathclutch

Yeah, I highly doubt Garcia would just waste his and Pitino's time l, if their wasn't some serious interest. Pitino's been good at moving to plan b if he suspects their isn't much interest from his top targets.

I’ll have to agree to disagree.

with some of the cupcakes teams play, they could have different starting lineup to find the right lineup.
building chemistry is more important to coaches than it is the couch potatoe coaches that post like they know more than the coaches has to who will/should start or not.
\
not to mention players are going to play which position.

maybe some of you should wait till the season begins then be pleasantly surprised.

this must be the in thing for coaches to do in pressuring kids to commit before they take all their visits. ISU Prohms did the same with Foster, Foster has stated over and over he will take ALL his visits them commit the 1st week of NOV. even his parents have stated this,

I get the whole look at Brunk stats but Lavall and him didn’t click and Butler’s offense was a mess. I think a new team new structure will be good for him. Is he going to dominate no but he will do well. TJD and Davis splitting time as a back up to Brunk gives IU some nice depth.
I don't know if that's good for Brunk or bad for Davis. Brunk's defensive metrics were terrible at Butler.

true but if he doesn’t play defense he isn’t going to play. I think that is why Archie challenged Brunk to drop the weight and reshape is body

What could possibly make you believe he’s ready to start? Hype? Recruit ranking? None of those things matter at this point.
Everything that’s being reported. He’s always mentioned as one of the best shooters on the team. He was the only person outside of Romeo and Juwan to win the gold jersey last year. If you haven’t read the article on him that The Athletic posted today, I suggest you read it. He was being considered as a starter last year prior to the condition coming up.

If the only reason you don’t think he will start is that he hasn’t played a game at the collegiate level, or that he is coming off of injury, then I don’t know what to tell you.

I'm assuming you are speaking of HUnter? If so, he will start if 100% healthy. Now, will that be in Game 1....week 1----Game 5, etc, etc...? I dunno. But talent wise, he's just as good, if not better than anyone IU has. If the young man is 100%, stays 100%, he will eventually start. He might just be Indiana's best plyer.

Yeah, and those are two huge factors. Lol. I’m saying this nicely, but it’s a huge homer stretch to think Hunter is starting the season or anytime soon after that.
