Bahaha! I thought you'd like that added point.
Up there for me is people that live by horoscopes and believe that psychic mediums can talk to dead people.
I don't agree with a lot of what Nancy Pelosi says, but she had a great speech today. If you haven't heard, it's a really nice message.
Nope, you're wrong Hail. They did everything they could to stop the violence and protests. Ask any of our left friends around here.
As soon as you heard 'take that shit to the suburbs... burn down white businesses...' I would expect to hear 'No, that's not a good idea. Don't burn down anything.' Something along those lines.
But what we heard instead was... nothing.
15+ years ago? Yeah, same world.
You knew the shooter was a liberal because he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a rifle designed for accurate engagement on a point target at 500m.
I sort of chuckled, but then remembered cops got shot...
Edit: Just saw... nobody died? Thank god.
Nobody died, yet. Dude can't shoot for shit.
The shooter died.
And yeah, I know a number of Bernie supporters. Only one loser in there. A LOT of people who do volunteer work and who care about their neighbors and don't think money is the end-all/be-all and the like, though.
I mean people who matter. I don't care what happened to him.
Any news on the gun itself?
I know a lot of conservatives that value their money but also volunteer doing work for the church on mission trips and at food pantries.
I've only heard witnesses say that it had a longer mag like an AR. Something to that effect.
Good for them? I wasn't talking about conservatives; I was talking about the Bernie supporters I know.
Gotta be. I can't tell if it is GOOD press or BAD press for the AR... that gun is just EVERYWHERE.
It's mind boggling. What good does ignoring that the riots happened do?
I don't think it's good or bad. It is what it is. He could have done this with two semi auto handguns as well.
*Everything* is either good press or bad press. My first instinct would be it is bad press, but at the same time it increases the visibility of the gun.
And I'm not sure he could have done this with two semi auto handguns. It likely would have been a different situation (although not necessarily WORSE... whereas a long gun is able to reach out and touch someone from a lot further away, handguns are able to get up close and personal before they are seen.)
Woof, guy sounds like a winner.
In March Hodgkinson met with sheriff deputies in Illinois after they received calls that he had fired 50 shots on his property. Hodgkinson had a valid firearms owner identification card and authorities determined that no law was violated.
Another incident took place in 2006 involving an alleged domestic battery and unlawful discharge of a shotgun. That case was dismissed.
Separately, Hodgkinson had an extensive history of traffic violations and petty offenses in St. Clair County, Illinois, spanning from 1989 to 2011, according to online county court records. The vast majority of the cases were traffic violations and nearly all of them were later dismissed. The most recent conviction on his record was for a “petty offense” of failure to obtain an electrical contractor’s license in 2009.
Amazing that nobody was killed. Bet some interesting stories will come out about the police involved.
What a joke.
Gets the drop on an unsuspecting target and manages 0 KIA while being killed himself.
Guess it's a lot easier in Call of Duty, huh?
Everyone just assumes AR if its long and black.
*Thats what she said*
It almost always IS, though. It's so strange that the AR has cornered the market the way it has.
And I don't think that 66 year old guy was playing CoD.
"Everyone loves making a terrible event political" yea god forbid we make a political assasination attempt political. Whoops was getting ahead of myself there
Yeah, this one is obviously political in some ways, but in a way it also ISN'T. Nobody is looking at this guy and thinking "Oh yes, it was politics that were really responsible here." It wasn't about a health care bill, or NAFTA. My guess is that it was that the guy is nuts. So it is WAY more about a nutjob than about legit politics.
I read that his facebook page was removed/deleted. I cannot verify that personally but if true, how do people feel about that? A lot of sites have saved or have screenshots of some of his political rants. Just think it is a weird situation - these social media companies have a lot of power with regards to censorship.
I agree. Dude was mental but politics are obviously partially involved.
Everything on his Facebook page was anti-Trump.
He even went so far as to exclaim that it was time to take Trump and Co down.
To argue that its anything OTHER than politics is simply trying to spin the situation.
There's zero question. None. At all. He hated Republicans, and was out to kill Republicans, simply for being Republican.
Mental? I thought I made sense. No need to take a shot at me.
Oh. THAT dude. Not TheDude. Gotcha. My bad.
Don't they "own" the profiles, ultimately? I don't think it is as much censorship as "We don't want to have people coming to our website looking for him because it makes us look bad, AND we don't want this persons message on our platform." They know plenty of people have screenshots and the like.
Right, but what I think the @TheDude1 is saying is that he was like that because he was just crazy. There was something wrong with him that made him hate Republicans.
Has the left blamed guns yet?
How does what some nutjob posted as a status make Facebook look bad?
What we talk about all day is politics. People passing laws is politics. People protesting is politics. People voting is politics.
A nut with a gun shooting a bunch of people is as much politics as 9/11 was a political statement on the formation of Israel and the involvement of the United States in Middle Eastern issues.
Trying to say it was only politics is at best dumb and at worst dishonest in an attempt to "win" points.
You're good man, I'll tag you if I want to take a shot at ya
Facebook wants to be known as a website where grandparents look at photos of their grandkids, not as a place where nutjob murderers post rantings and ravings.
Obviously he was mental. Did you not witness the pussy parade a few weeks ago? All of them are obviously mental. Have you seen the Antifa riots? All of them are obviously mental.
But they're also not trying to assassinate congressmen either.
Source? Or is this just in your opinion? I think the Facebook wants to be more than just a place where grandparents look at photos of grandkids.
Oh good lord. Grow up, man. Please.
Hail! Stop trolling. You know exactly what I mean.
