This weekend is that special night of the year when pro and college ball meet. When young men achieve life long dreams, where diamonds are found in the roughest of roughs. Where a team can lay a foundation for turn around and where others can point to their fall from grace.

This year it’s a loaded class along the lines, with some game changers at WR and a couple of lesser known QB’s climbing the ranks.

So. With tonight being the first round. It’s time to play “Who is your pick?”

For the Eagles, I’ll go with Christian Wilkins. The Eagles post Chipper have made D-Line their top position of priority. Wilkins gives some much needed help to Fletcher Cox, who will see double and triple teams, can come in right away and contribute and can get at the QB from inside technique. For a Defense that rarely blitzes, this is a much needed skill.

So, who do you want? Who do you think your team is getting? Let’s talk.

The Bears only have 5 total picks... Round 3, Round 4, Round 5, and two in Round 7.

The defense is at an elite level but since their first pick isn't till No. 87 I think they should go after some secondary help. You're probably not going to find an impact player this late but you never know. Or you could draft some offensive help. The less Trubisky has to do on his own the better.

I could see them taking a CB, a WR, a RB, and maybe a couple offensive linemen.

You are going to see a couple Iowa TE's go tonight or early tmrw. The gem, Imo, is Amani Hooker though, if your team gets him in the later rounds you should be very happy.

2 Iowa TE's will be taken in the first round.

And a total of 4 under classman will be drafted from Iowa.

    You talk about talent.

I think it falls this way

After Kyler actually goes #1, AZ starts getting trade offers for Rosen

After Dwayne Hoskins goes, trades for Rosen amp up, because that is it for QBs till next year....

AZ then gets two second round picks which they use on the Oline......

We will take either Greedy Williams or Rock Ya Sin in the first round at a position of eternal need in the Steel City.

Hope Rock is the pick over Greedy for character reasons but both are can't miss I think.

First time in my adult life that I don't care about the draft, we really don't need anything. I didn't even know the draft was today? Man, this is surreal as a Browns fan. The end of days must be near........

I hope Murray is sending Baker a holiday card. If he didn't have the season he did we'd still be hearing short and B12 QBs cannot succeed

BPA on defense. No clue who.

Just glad we don't have to be mentioned in the QB discussions.

I didn't respond to your depth point cause I didn't want to bash Iowa, cause I got nothing against Iowa. However, since you're calling me out on it I'll respond.

I'll make this point with last years recruiting class. In 2019 Iowa had the 41st rated class in the country. It probably would have been rated a little higher if they had landed 25 instead of 22. In this class the Hawkeye's only picked up one 4* recruit and he was a low 4*.

I'll use Michigan as an example of the differences. UM had the 10th best class in the country. They had two 5*s and 13 4*s.The bottom half of UM's class is superior to the top half of Iowa's. Will all these recruits hit the field in 2020? No, but they will be added to the depth of Michigan. UM will have better athletes than Iowa starting the game and UM's depth will be far superior to Iowa's in terms of quality.

Iowa could possibly overcome a clash with one talent superior opponent with great coaching and luck, but the B1G has several teams (tOSU, MSU, & PSU) that all out recruit Iowa by a large margin. Iowa is faced with an unfair disadvantage going into the season due to the imbalance of talent favoring the afore mentioned teams.

Again, this is not a bash at Iowa. It is just the way I see it. If it makes you feel any better, I see UT's ceiling at 8 wins with 7 wins being more likely.

It is developmental at times but that perception can be credited to guys leaving early. Its a kick in the nuts. Its hard to get a lot of good players here and then we lose them to the NFL.

Hoping it’s Devin Bush but doubt he falls to us. I’d gladly take Greedy though if he’s available. Haven’t heard of Rock until a day ago when apparently it came out that Tomlin is in love with him

A good bet would be does Dorsey move up to the 1st round...............that would be a good bet.

We got like 8 picks and if we packaged some and traded a player we could get In there. If I had to bet I say he does, no way does this guy stay put and watch everyone else get guys.........plus we need to win right now. I could see Duke being packaged with some picks.

This is who Dorsey likes from what im hearing, even with the torn ACL........he will be there in the 1st round.

You're not manufacturing a first-round pick with a backup RB and some later round picks. Fans always propose trades where other teams take their trash and give their favorite team what they treasure.

Hes a backup because we have Nick Chubb a 1,000 yard rusher, and that other guy Kareem Hunt(you may have heard of him) the other 1,000 yard rusher.

Duke would be starting for damn near everyone else but here hes 3rd string.

My God, we are so damned stacked.

He is worth a 10 spot move up in the 3rd round. In the mind of NFL GMs draft picks are gold, running backs are a dime a dozen.

You maybe not have heard yet, we have this new GM who just put together the best roster in the NFL within 16 months. That's something this guy couldn't even do.....

I did hear that you have called the Browns roster the best in the NFL. I have my doubts because you’re a ridiculous homer who said that the East in the NBA runs through Cleveland in 2018-19. I have my doubts because you think the Indians are a World Series contender.

I’ve seen a few mocks where he’s there, I also wouldn’t put it past Howie to trade up if he’s in the teens.

Overall As with the draft, it comes to the Hollywood game of “Want, Settle, Get”

I think they want Christian Wilkins, they’ll settle for Hollywood Brown, and they’ll get Deionte Thompson.

I think he might move up, but wouldn't bet he's going up 20ish spots into round 1.

Last year didn't teach you "what we are hearing" means nothing? Up until about a few hours before the draft most had us taking Darnold or Allen 1 and Chubb at 4.

and, yeah, I've heard many fans saying we need to get Simmons. My guess is most saying this have never seen him take a live snap.

I swear if they wanted to ESPN could convince us Mike Weber is shooting up boards and should go top 15.

That said, if we can get him in round 2 our roster is talented enough we could live with a red shirt year if they love him enough.

Yeah...fans are really clueless sometimes. I remember our fans thinking we got ripped off because we "only" got a 5th for Carlos Hyde last year.

Dorsey is in win now mode, I could totally see him mortgaging the future for a high pick tonight, package picks and trade a player to make it happen. I heard this morning on 92.3 that Joe Schobert could be on the block..........injuries and has too many missed tackles from some website, hes gonna have missed tackles because hes always dropping back in coverage because of the scheme. But we got a new scheme now that Greg Williams isn't here.

    I like Schobert.

In all seriousness, best in NFL a bit of a stretch without first seeing them beat a good team but if Baker can show he's the real deal it's not a crazy notion. Not sure anyone could say their O is better. D is another story, though, and where we need to see something first.

Reports were more along the lines of teams are calling us, not the other way around. sure, ya gotta listen when they call.

I also like the guy and think he's been exceptional at calling plays. I think getting rid of Gregggggg will help. I've never been a fan.

It’s so hard to see where they’ll go when we’re talking pick 25. For me, I want B.L.A. (Best lineman available) albeit on offense or defense. Although I’ve seen some mocks where DJ Metcalf is available there. That dude is intriguing to me.

Metcalf is a great body guy, but if I’m going BIG WR, I’m waiting on the 2nd round and I’ll take JJ Arcega-Whiteside. That dude is gonna be a player.

Have to say, I’m guilty myself. I actually thought Markell’s Fultz would have value. He went for a guy who can’t even get time on a team with no bench.

Now watch, Cleveland will Trade up to Philly’s spot in the first and Duke Johnson will be in the deal. Star would never let me live that one down.

I’m just ****ing with star. You know Mayfield won me over when we were talking about the Birds Browns preseason game and he ripped a 20 yard out route on time from the opposite half with perfect timing vs solid coverage. I think the Browns are building something special and success will come sooner as opposed to later.
