Damn, I was hoping these guys would stick around awhile. I was starting to like them.
They had more to replace last year. If they don’t add any above average transfers, I’d guess they’d be a fringe top 20 team. But I’ll be pretty surprised if they don’t land a few good transfers.
Ingram, Dickinson, Timberlake, Battle and many others are interested in KU and vise versa

Come on, man...Kentucky's going to add a couple big name transfers to their #1 class and you guys will be printing 40-0 shirts in a few months. 😁
Cal was one of the only coaches alive capable of making a run at 40-0, almost did it twice at Kentucky, within a 4-year period.
With NIL and the portal those days of building teams like that are probably gone forever.
You beat a 3 seed georgia tech team, a 8 seed butler team, a 8 seed UK team and 5 seed san diego state. Cool story. And your ass at every other statistic.
To be fair, i don’t think anyone was beating them during that run this year. They finished #1 in kenpom by a good margin.
And in 2014 they beat like 4 Hall of Fame coaches on their way to the title(seriously we all give Cal crap for losing a title to Kevin Ollie but he also beat Tom Izzo, Jay Wright and Billy Donovan during that run).

They weren't lucky before 99 and most seasons the last 10 years outside their titles. I mean 3 losing seasons in a row. That is below NIT level

In 99 they beat a very, very good Duke team...
2004 they beat another rally good Duke team(1 seed) in the FF...
2011 they beat #6(2 seeded) SDSU, #17(5 seeded) Arizona and #10(4 seeded) Kentucky...
2014(7 seed)---Beat 2 seed Nova, 3 seed Iowa State, 4 seed MSU, and #1 seed Florida in route to title.
Last year---They were arguably the best team. And showed just that in the NCAAT.
I don't disagree they either hit a homer, or strike da fuk out....But 5 titles is 5 titles. No matter who da fuk you beat.
I mean look at KU's 1988 title----
Beat 11 seed Xavier, 14 seed Murray State, 7 seeded Vandy and 4 seed KSU to reach FF. Of course did beat a really good OU team in the title game...
Great KU team in 2008, but an easy road to the FF: 12 seed Nova in SW16, then 10th seeded Davidson in the Elite 8. --FF though was nails.
