NCAAT Record...

Not positive if this is the record or not, but LMU dropped 149 points on Michigan, the defending champs, in the 2nd Round of the 1990 NCAA Tournament. LMU made 21 3-pointers as a team, and Jeff Fryer made 11 himself. Maybe @CDNCBBFan can confirm?

Nailed it.

Nice! Yeah, it's hard to imagine anyone making more than 21 three pointers in a game. LMU's average time of possession was slightly over 6 seconds in that game; certainly a lot of opportunities for making baskets with that tempo. Looking at the boxscore now - 21 for 40 from 3, and 49 for 89 overall from the field. That's crazy.

6 seconds?! That's insane. Step your game up, unc.

That was Paul Westhead's run-and-gun style of offense - quick shots and full-court press. Hank Gathers (RIP) averaged 29 ppg and he didn't even lead LMU in scoring. As a team, they averaged over 122 points per game.

Damn. 21 is insane. I know the record v UK was Stephen F Austin just a few season ago with 19. That was reg season. 21 in the postseason is unconscious.
