Shocked there isnt a thread yet. Two upsets earlier today. GS is look very very good right now, unsurprisingly.

I said in the other thread this week that Brooklyn would win their series. They play as a team and can drive most anyone off the bounce and Philly is just a mess right now-especially with embiid not being full strength.

GS/LA has been fun in terms of curry being curry and all of the shit talking by Beverley

    Him and Durant just ejected

Ticks me off every time I see Curry or Durant running around like they're some kind of world-beaters. It's like, no shit, assholes, when my team is stacked with 5 future HOF-ers all in their primes, I'd be running up the score too.

The Clippers don't have a single player who is as good as any player on the Warriors' starting 5. What a joke.

And yet they were in it until halftime. If not for some BS calls going against them and Curry having one of his amazing nights it would have likely come down to the final minutes.

He’s a good player but I tend to agree that the each member of the starting five of the Dubs is better than anybody from the Clips.

    NBA basketball is garbage.

So hard to watch...even the Spurs play horrible basketball.

    Dribble, dribble shoot a 3.

It does feel less compelling than the NBA I grew up with certainly. Still root for Rip City but I am nowhere near as into it/invested in it.

Once I accepted that and just started watching for entertainment it became more fun.

I still love the college game a lot more.

College football is a worse product than it was in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. But we don’t have people constantly complain about that.

The nba is filled with more athleticism and talent than ever before. Truly a global game now. And analytics have taken the game to new heights schematically. The top teams of today would dominate top teams of the early 90s because 3>2.

    I dont dispute that.

Unless the other team has a Shaq or Duncan type Big Man.

Who scores 30 a game down low it makes sense.

I just wish they would add 5 seconds to the play clock but add a 4 sec closely guarded rule.

Give them time to run a little better sets.

Analytics was used in the 70s.

Lmao..they are running rhe same sets man..stop hyping this crap up.

Atleticism has always been in the NBA a 40 inch vertical is the same now as it was in the 70s.

These guys not cant run a simple fast break, basic defensive principles.. And cant even take advantage of mismatches...let alone properly throw a pass to a big man inside.

And yes the rules have changed.

I will say this years playoffs is unique without Lebron.....usually he is the big dog who gets all the attention in his series, not this year. Now we can concentrate on other players/teams.

The East will have the better games/series(look what Brooklyn just did).

Btw, I just heard the Cavs are showing interest in hiring Becky Hammon as our new coach. Not sure how I feel about it? Im not against a woman coaching my team its all about can she get the players to buy in to her scheme and will they respect her. On a sidenote I would totally wreck that.....I think shes hot for a 40ish year old. Heard a pretty legit rumor though that Tony Parker was banging her in SA while she was an assistant @jeans15 is that BS or could it be true.

I heard Becky Hammon is dating(or even down low married) a woman named Brenda Milano.....I googled her if its the dark hair chic mmmmmmmmm.

Man, is it just me or is 99% of the WNBA lesbians? Some of those women are hot but none like d***???

Curry got lucky to win that first championship. Durant has two finals MVPs to Curry's none.

The most athletic guys in the 70s were just as athletic as the most athletic guys now.

What’s different is how athletic and skilled all positions are. There simply weren’t guys like Greek Freak and AD back in the 70s.

And no, the shooting of guys like Steph and Lillard has changed the geometry of the game. Defenses have to fundamentally respond differently when the ball swings to 28-30 feet away from the hoop. There’s just so much more of a threat of not just a shot being taken but being made. This, in turn, has opened up more space in the paint.

Curry should have been Finals MVP for at least last year. He is the engine that makes the team go. When Durant is forced to Iso he has games where he simply can’t get his shot to fall...like Game 7 of the Western Con Finals when they choked against Golden State.

    100% bullshit ^^^^^^

Years back the Cavs had Lebron when he was here the 1st time check Derrick Rose straight up BEFORE the knee injury Rose got, when he was the fastest guy off the dribble in the NBA.

Lebron was 6'8" 270.....checking Rose one on one.

Ok, so now who from the 70s accomplished something like that? Come on now this era is sick.......with nutrition/cross training/advanced medicine 2019 athletes are light years ahead of guys from the 70s.

Look at Greek Freek and Westbrook.....heck, you have a 7 footer Kevin Durant who can grab a rebound and take it coast to coast at the other end for a layup, we got 7 footers now spotting up from 3(Dirk in his career).

The game has changed dramatically because the athletes now are on another level physically.

Nah Durant was the difference maker in that series much like the year before which is why he won finals MVP.
