    Once again.

It's time to put aside our differences be them religious, political, football rivalry, and celebrate America's likker.

That said, if you use ice, coke or anything else to dilute this nectar, you are a commie pinko...well, you know the rest.

    2018 and 2017 threads.

I have yet to try Blanton's. I live in Orlando and can never find it. I did just find a bottle of Angel's Envy that's pretty good

So what is that Old Blowhard like? Seen it around and been curious. Also hidden in the back, is that an unopened bottle of Rowan’s Creek? I remember enjoying that one.

An ice cube, or just splash of water and sometimes even mineral water can really bring out the flavors in a lot bourbons. Drinking them all neat isn't necessarily the best way to enjoy.

For our anniversary this week, the wife bought me the Jefferson's experiment pack. Five 200ml bottles, each aged in a different type of barrel.

I am an idiot for opening the Old Blowhard. Paid $200 for it and it now sells for 900-1200. Idiot!

It's the first bottling by Orphan Barrel, an outfit that supposedly finds rare, forgotten barrels from elite or historic distilleries such as Stitzel Weller and yada yada yada. My taste buds have no meaningful capability, but it tasted like something forgotten for 26 years that should have been poured down the drain. Just my opinion of course.

Blanton's is Art's drink on Justified and the bourbon stocked for John Wick at the Continental. A worthy choice, Blanton's is one of my favorites.

    Nice selection.

Can never get Blanton’s around here. Our ABC in VA does a lottery and I never ****ing win. Just did one for Pappy and didn’t get selected.

You know, we did a bourbon tasting last year and I bought the Blanton's for us to try and I was not impressed. I paid a pretty penny for it too so I was quite disappointed! I like Woodford myself. The Angel's Envy is great too if I wanna spend the extra cash.

How much does that stuff cost? I was at a trade show last weekend and some guy won a bottle in a raffle, he was passing it around for all the normies to sip out of.

Usually around 50 bucks. Very good price for the quality of it in my opinion.

But you can get Bowman Brothers which is made in VA. VA is probably the only place I have been to where the cost of bourbon is higher than Alabama.

When I make a trip to the CNM track in Bowling Green the Liquor Barn has a very good customer. In April I spent over $500 but it would have cost me over $700 here. For instance Makers 21 there here 32. Jefferson 31 here 53.

    Reminds me of Justified:

“I never developed a taste for tequila,” “I don’t understand how you can make a drink out of something like that – sharp, inhospitable.” But bourbon? “Bourbon is easy to understand: It tastes like a warm summer’s day.”

I have good friends living in VA and they just brought me 3 bottles. He took a position as head of surgery at Bath Community Hospital. They live in Covington. Got to say the Omni is impressive.

Now back to bourbon. We have been discussing some pricey brands but it is good to find a bottom shelf that is a good pour. We get Virgin Bourbon 101 which is neat as most of it goes overseas to Japan. $14.99 for a bottle for 7 year old 101 proof ain't bad.

An ice cube or a little water releases the flavor.

I’m good with up to 3 ice cubes in bourbon IF you plan on drinking it in a timely manner. If you sip on a glass for an hour, neat is the way to go.
