How do you figure Cuonzo is reaching out to Tyler Cook? Just because he hates it at Iowa and would like to come closer to home? You can't let this Tilmon thing go. Cuonzo has made it clear he doesn't actively recruit committed players but there are ways to let the player know that he would be interested in them should they decommitt, especially when those players are from his hometown. Are you also not aware that players looking to transfer will have people make calls behind the scenes? It doesn't have to be the coaches reaching out to them. Blake Harris was making calls to other programs before the Braggin' Rights game.
They had to slow the Tilmon commitment down because the NCAA started looking into the recruitment.
You think it's not recruiting because he skirts the rules on it? He's recruiting him without making direct contact. Unlucky for Missouri that Cook doesn't have a principal that Compliance is related to.

Smith is gone. Done deal. Illini coaches wouldn't admit that during the season. The Smith situation doesn't sit well with Liddell. Illinois is going to get shut out of the STL metro east for years to come.

Very few people on the board are saying anything about Mark Smith going JUCO and the ones that are are obviously just throwing shit at a wall, much like I’m sure fans do on your board as well as every other rivals board. That is pretty much all message boards are.
No where has it been mentioned Cuonzo is the one back channeling with Cook. It is well known he is unhappy at Iowa and given that he is from St Louis word is going to get out in the Mizzou community that he is unhappy and may want to go to school close to home. And most of that talk is only IF the transfer rules get changed. Not many people expect him to leave if he would have to sit out a year.
Again the Okoro thing is throwing shit against a wall by posters. He may have been brought up by our mods a few times but no where did they say they think Mizzou is the likely landing spot or near the top of his list, they mention him in things such as an “Ideal” recruiting class because ideally he would be the top target they would want. That is not them saying we will land him. There is a lot of talk from posters about Liddell and Okoro (mostly Liddell) because that is what message boards are for. To talk about possibilities and so posters post things regardless if they have any inside info about them or not just to talk about the possibility that it could happen. All message boards do this. God forbid people talk about the recruiting targets on their board. Okoro may be a very, very, very long shot but the 2019 recruiting cycle still has a looong ways to go and he is probably going to be talked about until he officially trims his list or commits somewhere. That is what fans who follow recruiting do.

You clearly have no idea how a scenario like Cuonzo-Cook works, or you're being wilfully ignorant to preserve the façade of Clean Cuonzo.
Okay so how is this situation with Cuonzo-Cook any different than the one with the Nevada grad transfer to Illinois you’ve been talking about in another thread. Other than Cook would have to sit a year. You mentioned that it was the Nevada (potential) Transfer that reached out to you guys but when it comes to the Cuonzo situation it had to have been Cuonzo doing dirty work behind the scenes and it couldn’t be Cook reaching out looking to get back home. Again, this situation was basically only considered a possibility IF the transfer rules would get changed in time.
Obviously when there may be mutual interest in a transfer coaches are going to have ways to get in contact indirectly but you are acting like Cuonzo is doing dirty work while Golden Boy Underwood is clean as can be.
It isn't. I just like throwing dirt on the narrative your guys throw out that Cuonzo does everything by the book. It's commonplace in college basketball. I don't pretend that Underwood is any cleaner than your average coach.

Say what you will about Cuonzo Martin but one thing is for damn sure. Kim Anderson was never going to do this. He was never going to win 20 games in a season. He was never going to finish in the top 5 in the SEC. He was never going to sniff the NCAA Tournament. He was never going to ignite a fire in the fan base.
