They recently gave him quite an extension. However, that doesn't mean he will ever take the program any higher. They have not looked good so far this season.

What’s the fastest a coach has been fired in season for non ncaa compliance reasons? @dukedevilz I feel like you might know the answer to this.
Off the top of my head, no. I do know there have been quite a few fired less than 10 games into the season. I'll see if I can find some of those notable coaches.

So, Turgeon only lasted 8 games. Here are three P6 coaches that didn't last quite that long.
1.Henry Bibby, USC, 2004-05. Just four games into the season. Finished at 2-2
2. Mike Jarvis, St.John's, 2003-04. Jarvis Went 2-4 before being fired.
3. Dan Monson, Minnesota, 2006-07. He resigned after losing 5 straight. Was 2-5 on the season.
