Lon Kruger hanging up the whistle.

Lon was solid at OU. Turgeon could actually be a good fit at OU

He's bounced around a lot of places, but has been mostly successful. Kind of cool/interesting to see his son got the head job at UNLV in the same year that he retired. He'll probably move to Vegas and help out as a special assistant.

Why the heck did he leave Kansas State in the first place? Florida most have thrown serious money at him. Because they had pretty close to no history before he came there.

Started it all at UF with great recruiting etc..

I think the Vince Carter situation did him in at UF. Billy D stepped in and ended up getting his signature on the court

heck, even Mike white got to an E8.

Thanks Lon

He told Ron Paradis (starter on KSU ‘64 FF team) that he couldn’t get any recruits to visit Manhattan. Two other factors were the $ that Florida was offering and the commitment the KSU was making towards football.

Well, yes, both reasons make sense. People often say there's nothing to do in Manhattan. Those are pretty valid reasons for jumping ship. KSU sure a rough go in the 90's w/o Krueger leading the way.
