LOL. Cry baby Cal of course wants a rule change…

Personally, if I’m a guard chasing on defense, I’m going to try to be a little more aware of what’s ahead of me. I think Wheeler gets like a cat after a laser pointer and him running into the screens at full speed says more about him. I don’t want to see anyone hurt, but as a guard you should expect screens.

You can still defend and keep up while being more aware. His defensive concentration hasn’t produced enough advantages/to’s to risk running full speed into someone.

That’s my opinion. It costs what it’s worth.

Well, he is a "Cat" after all, so there is that.

In a perfect world, all screens would be blind side; they'd be much more effective.

Cal runs rampart through the mind of Auburn fans
Nah. It’s just the same shit nick saban does when he loses. The last 3 times auburn has beat Alabama in football. Saban has pushed for a rule change

There needs to be a penalty (time in a penalty box? 😉) called on any teammate who doesn’t call out a screen to his unaware teammate. Both times Wheeler has gotten injured, it was Oscar who failed to warn him of the screen.

According to Oscar, he did call out the screen in both cases.

In his defense, both collisions happened on the tiad in hostile environments (LSU and Auburn), so Wheeler probably just didn't hear him.

Wheeler is going to have to make an adjustment on his end. Every road game they play has a jacked up arena.

Haven’t seen enough UK games to remember and I did not see the specific plays that Wheeler got hurt on. Does Wheeler try and pick up at halfcourt or further on defense a lot? That’s usually where I see most blindside screens that end badly. A guy running downhil on defense into a screener a lot of times because the teammate defending the screener is too far away to alert his teammate of the screen.

The lsu one happened about midcourt, like u are describing. I missed first half of auburn game, my buddy said same exact thing happened but idk exactly.

Cal can be kind of in the moment and reactionary at times I think. He also may just wanting to be standing up for his player knowing that what he is saying is nonsense.

Both collisions were identical.
A big set a screen at mid-court and waited for Wheeler to run into them.

The best description I've seen was earlier in this thread, Wheeler is like a cat chasing a laser, he locks in on it and goes balls to the wall until he gets in front or steals the ball. He needs to look up, or assume the screen is always there.

Plus setting screens is about the only way to make opposing pgs quit hounding you full court, if they are good at it like wheeler. I mean pass is an option but then u get it out of the pgs hands.
