Life in the BIG 10 is so tough

It’s a balanced league for sure. But no elite teams as usual. Just a bunch of good ones. The most good teams in one league this year.

ACC and Big 12 aren’t as good top to bottom but both have elite teams that can win it all.

I could see Baylor going to the Final Four.

I could also see them losing in the Sweet 16....or even the 2nd Rd depending on the matchup.

ACC top tier and Gonzaga have the best chance to play for the title and win it.

The way this season has gone, this could honestly be Gonzaga's year.

Azubuike wouldn’t be able to handle the defense/athleticism of so many Big Ten Centers like Evan Boudreaux.

That’s okay...your teams only score about 50 ppg anyway, which would translate to about 35 vs KU.

Louisville
Duke
KU
Baylor

Are elite and title contenders. Baylor is 21-1. The other 3 are 20-3? Elite teams don’t lose 6-8 games by now. SDSU and Zags play in awful leagues. Hard to call them elite right now. Who has either team beaten?

Even West Virginia, Texas Tech and Florida State are GOOD, arent elite or natty contenders, but are all as good as the top teams in the B1G. It’s just the B1G has 10 of those teams. Well more than anyone. Big East right behind them.

These 4 teams above are all natty contenders. I don’t see a natty contender in the B1G. Just don’t. Sparty and Ohio State I thought maybe had that potential but both fell off even before league play.

West Virginia even already beat Ohio State in Ohio when they were #2 and still rolling.

Duke will be exposed as average again. Love Jones and Carey. But they are not going to win it. Nor will the WCC posers. Kansas or Louisville right now are the top 2 teams. Agree that none of the BIG teams are dominate but it all comes down to draw the tourney. You just never know which “mid level” P 5 team will get hot in tourney.

Like Michigan a few years ago. Or UCONN. OR Texas Tech and Auburn last year. I will take a battle tested 7 loss team over Gonzaga and sd st all day. It matters in the dance. All the champs get tested and must have luck. LIke UVA last year.

Baylor deserves more respect. They’ve performed better than anyone else overall thus far.

Unfortunately for San Diego Sate, their starting center suffered a blood clot in his lung. That was back in late December. Looking more and more likely that he won't return. With him in the lineup, I think SDSU is at least a top 10 team. They pounded Creighton on a neutral court, beat Iowa, took down BYU on the road. Beat Utah State on the road. I think they still make it to the second weekend, even without Mensah. Malachi Flynn is one of the best point guards in the country. Upside is always good when you have an elite backcourt.

As far as Gonzaga, they're actually looking really strong. Impressed with their progression throughout the season. They look like a legit final four team right now. Not saying they're going to win it all, but they won't be an easy out. Check out how SDSU and Gonzaga stack up against other programs. A combined 9-1 in Quad 1 games. Not bad. Only Baylor can claim greater success in Quad 1 matchups.

never could understand why a conference that loaded in the 1st 12 can't be considered a elite team.

they beat each up each night so nobody is dominating, the seperation came in the OOC schedule. now that the conference season has gone past the halfway point and the balance of the league is being shown.

once the BT season is over the preseason BT teams will take over. what makes it that much more interesting is most of the top players will return,.
for Iowa that means that Garza is returning, Wieskamp is returning, Fredrick is returning
Oturu of Minnesota will be back
Cockburn of Illinois will be back
TJD of Indiana will be back.

there are others returning as well that makes the BT even stronger next year.

I think Maryland could get to the FF.....possibly win it. MSU is in a funk---but the pieces are there. A dude like Winston can carry a team a looooong ways. Now, after? Probably a bunch of SW 16 teams, that could lose in the 2nd, and or 1st rounds. Then again, a few teams like Illinois, Iowa or even a Michigan(with Livers) could make runs. Don't let Penn State's name fool you----those dudes are good.

League is pretty darn good.

Rutgers has found a league that they can compete in.
Ummm, yeah....No, Coming into this year, Rutgers was 16-76 in the Big 10. Best finish was 12th. Having a good year, PLus, have a solid coach, as well. But before this season, Rutgers was plum awful. Shit, it took them into their 5th year in the Big 10, to reach 10 wins-----TOTAL....

Not sure why some of these dudes can’t give credit where credit is due. This is an outlier year for the B1G with so many good, but not elite teams. With that said, I would argue that this fact sticks out even more due to there being no elite teams in general across the country and the other conferences being soft in the middle. This is a weird black swan type season for the B1G and ncaab overall. The F4 is more wide open than ever, even more so than last year, which was wide wide open. I mean, fcking Auburn made it last year.

I see a couple of teams with only 2-3 quad 1 wins on that list... Disgusting!

Iowa will play 6 quad 1 games and 1 quad 2 team in their last 7 games. so they have a very tough ending to the season.

Cowan is playing like a senior. Like your comment on Cassius, a good pg an take you all the way. Don’t think Terps will win Natty, but it is possible.

in a year like this a solid SR PG is worth his weight in gold. this team with a healthy PG in Jordan would have at least 3 more wins and solidy in 1st place in the BT.
all time 3 point shooter in both made and %
2nd all time in assists,

as a SR PG he could be the missing piece. to me he could easily replace Evelyn as the key backup at the 1 or 2

Hold the phone.... if Bohannon healthy Iowa solidly in first place? He is a good shooter for sure but dude.... I will have to disagree. He can’t cover Cowan either.

the opposite of that is Cowan can't GUARD Jordan either, plus Jordan has been playing thru injuries
SO season foot injury
JR season needed Hip surgery
SR season a 2nd Hip surgery
all 3 seriously hampered his lateral quickness, and yet all these super Athletic players COULD NOT GUARD HIM,

there is a serious descrancie between not athletic enough to guard players and yet stIll beats these so called SUPERIOR ATHLETES.

Don't be surprised if 9-10 teams from B1G make the tournament and none of 'em get past the Sweet 16. Maybe 3-4 even make that.

Baylor is #1 because they are the best team I’ve seen all year.

Until proven otherwise they’re my natty favorite. Louisville, us and a couple others all have a shot too.
