Kentucky Resume...

Injuries to our top two players. No back up PG. injuries happen to everyone but at least helps explain the inconsistency

We are a four as of today. Not too bad. Three would be a lot better though

Texas played without their overall best player too. Injuries are happening to most teams this time of the season.

Ohio State is the only head scratcher. Random road loses in the SEC are going to happen. Just not as often as I’d like to believe if we had Butler especially.

But yea, that’s a really strange outlier
I think kentucky is about a year or 2 away with Pope. I think you will be really good next year.

That might be true, but there is really no way to say they will be better or worse.,unless you have inside info on what that future will look like.

We are going to need to hit the portal hard.

Garrison
Oweh
Chandler
Perry
Noah
Johnson
Moreno
Lewis
Ament? Probably going to Duke or Louisville

That’s a good roster but not a great one. PG and center are going to be big needs for Pope from the portal.

according to our crazy radio host Tony Basilio Tennessee has already confirmed 3 portal transfers for next year and all are going to be ranked high. Said they have already let Barnes know, speculation one is the D2 players of the year from Harrogate and another is Budd Clark from Merrimack

This dude just committed to Auburn today. His brother will be a top portal guy from monmouth also. Auburn played monmouth earlier this year and Pearl talked to his brother for quite awhile after the game.

No. Kerr Lriisa has only played in 9 of the 25 games so far. He did not play against Ohio State nor Georgia.

Against UGA Williams only played 13 minutes. Butler, UK's starting point guard has been hurt in several games.

Butler was hurt in the Alabama game. After that he has not been 100%. After Alabama Butler played as follows:
Vandy, hurt no minutes:
Tennessee hurt no minutes:
Arkansas, hurt no minutes:
Ole Miss, hurt no minutes:
South Carolina, 23 minutes but hurt:
Tennessee, 22 minutes but hurt,
and Texas hurt no minutes.

The injury bug has been a problem at UK this year; however, that is part of the game. So no excuses here. But I would like to see a top 25 team this year who has had more injuries than Kentucky.

7-1 against top 15 ranked teams. 1-4 against unranked teams in there last 5 games against them. Not sure I have ever seen this
Not surprising to me.

They are down their starting backcourt. And will be so for a bit. Take the starting backcourt away from any team in America and they will look as inconsistent, if not worse, then this UK team.

On top of all this, UKs backup PG has been out basically all year. On top of that, UKs starting power forward (Carr) has been relegated to the bench since he has come back from his back injury. He is a shell of the guy that dominated Duke and other teams at the beginning of the year and early part of conference play.

All this to say UK is essentially down three starters and their backup PG. Not one team in the country could withstand that. If UK ever gets healthy, or at least somewhat healthy, they have already proven they can beat anybody in the country.

I get the injuries for sure but your defense has been a problem all season

Other than Crissa, your injuries haven’t been for a long period of time. Butler has been a couple of weeks and Robinson has been for two games. The thing that has me so pumped about Kelsey is that he’s made great adjustments with all of our injuries, he is getting 100% out of everyone on both ends. Injuries suck for sure though.

Two of Kentucky’s most impressive games were Gonzaga and Tennessee, Butler played in neither,

Butler and Carr have been injured for well over a month. They just happened to play some of the games while injured.

Also, no offense, but Louisville is playing crap opponents virtually every single game. I would much rather UK have these injuries in the ACC then SEC.

Kentucky turns into the 2016 Golden State Warriors when they play Tennessee. I mean it's like yall receive super powers

We were down 5 players against you guys in Rupp, y’all weren’t that scary even when Butler played the game of his life. Texas is not a good team btw, neither is Arkansas.

I would gladly, and I mean gladly, switch injuries with UL. UK is playing with no backcourt and no backup PG. That is a death sentence in college basketball. Take Hepburn off UL and let me know how they do.

Texas is a tournament team as we speak. Arky is loaded with talent and has been Caliparied. Both teams would be top 3/4 in the ACC, without a doubt.

Louisville fans say the same thing.
Louisville has played in a tougher basketball conference than Kentucky every season this century until this year, we didn’t use that as an excuse like you are. Now that the football schools are taking basketball seriously, you guys are just another mid pack basketball team to go with your cellar dwelling football. But hey, y’all can pull for the rest of your conference. Lol

Another post hiding behind other teams because UK raw dogged Louisville. We are your daddy

I haven’t used our injuries as an excuse for the season, it did cost us the Oklahoma game and Mississippi game because Pryor’s injury took time to recover and make changes. Hepburn did miss two games ago with a groin injury.

A. I have said a million times that I couldn't care less about how the SEC does. You can keep conference honking all you want, but I couldn't care less about the SEC or ACC performance. Sheesh.

B. I have no idea what your response has to do with me telling a UT fan that UL fans say the same thing about their game with UK. There is literally no relevance in your response.

C. Congrats on thinking UK is another mid pack SEC team. Congrats on UL constantly losing to that mid pack SEC team.

If raw dogging is shooting more free throws in Rupp, then you are right. We’ve made more free throws than our opponents have attempted, yet in Rupp, y’all shot 28 to our 14. That’s some serious raw dogging. lol

Calipari and his elite talent aren’t playing Kenny Payne anymore.

Our two wins over Kenny Payne really go a long way out of the 41 total.

Nah you troll UK any chance you get and don’t like it when posters call you on it.
Actually I get a kick out of the history books coming out, especially when you are realizing that times are changing.

Now that NIL is legal, Kentucky lost its advantage. Calipari was somehow able to convince 5 star players to back up other five stars. Kentucky basketball players always had nicer cars than any other team, Rex got himself a sweet trans am when he signed. 😉 NIL has been at Kentucky for decades and now everyone else gets to use it.

We will see!! I like where we are under Pope. He’s done well for year one. I only anticipate it will get better.

louisville was also paying players. As was everyone that has won titles in basketball and football

Weird team we have. They get up and beat really good teams (sometimes when we don't have all our players) then shit the bed against average teams (sometimes when we don't have all our players). I have no clue what this team will do from night to night.

I'd like to see us get healthy and have a full roster, but still not sure how far they can go. Pretty decent first year for Pope though. I'm interested to see what he can do when he gets a lot of talent, which I think will happen.

You guys go as how your shooting goes, you have good shooters but defensively not very good.
